It's talent like this that should push Carter (a fellow Georgian) to commit. Will make him feel more comfortable having others from his home state heading to the Bend w him. Awesome.

If there is no connection between the two other than they are from the same state, I cannot understand why it would make any difference to Lorenzo Carter at all. Tyler is a kicker. Kickers keep to themselves in practice. They will never cross paths, except in class or in the dorms.

Not sure if I follow that logic.

quick question, what does this mean?

Chris Sailer Kicking: :s::s::s::s: #33

was #33 his number? Does it mean he was the #33 kicker at Sailer's camp that year? ( Not hating, but were the #1 - 32 kickers already committed somewhere? just askin' )

32 "better" kickers. 16 better punters.

Once again, I think we liked him because he can kick and punt.

Happy to have any kid the staff wants, but am unhappy about the class' average falling from ~92 to ~90 because of a K/P/LS addition. 247 needs to realize it's just silly to include them.

I don't like this at all. He can do both but he's not elite at either. Boy, I hope that I'm wrong on this. Did we even talk to the top five kickers or punters?

The coaching staff doesn't give a **** about anyone's ranking of their prospects, so I doubt they went to a site and looked for the top 5 guys.

Congrats on your latest commitment Irish.

And congrats to Newsome. From all accounts he appears to be a great young man.

With Brindza, Newsome, and the recently added specialists as preferred walk-ons, are we seeing a new recruiting strategy? Bring in lots of walk-ons to maintain depth, and only offer scholarships to proven combo specialists? If it works, it should free up 1-2 scholarships for non-specialists in an average cycle.

That's exactly what I'm thinking.

After the Spring game nobody should be complaining about offering an awesome punter. And for you ranking slaves, if we offered him I'm sure Kelly and Co don't think he is the 16th (or whatever his ranking is) best punter.

Congrats Tyler. PS- can you get a one bar helmet, I dig those. Gary Anderson style.

If they offered him at camp, it's a good offer IMO

Kickoff and Punt, no field goals apparently.

Somebody needs to delete his H.S. stats for the '11 and '12 seasons then as he made 12 of 15 FGAs for a 80% success rate. BTW, I found Kickoff and FG stats but NO punt data.

'12: 9/11 FGs .818; 52/53 PATs .981; 79 Pts Scored

'11: 3/4 FGs .750; 22/24 PATs .917; 31 Pts Scored
