I know jarron jones has hosted visitors before. Maybe the staff will try to use his NY background if not ishaqs.

Maybe, but Ishaq and Holley are both from NYC, whereas Jones is from the Rochester area, so that's a pretty big environmental difference. Not sure the NY connection between Jones and Holley would be worth much.

Not at all. Rochester is worlds apart from NYC.

I think you all are right about the cultural differences but maybe proving too much. Didn't the kid like Miami because Golden was a Jersey guy?

Jersey's a lot closer, culturally, to Brooklyn than Rochester is.
I'd put him with Bennett Jackson, Ishaq, Montelus, send Jay Hayes over to chat him up. Though Jones does seem, um, personable, and would be in the same position group. Point is, show him kids from the Northeast are comfortable at ND.

This.

Might as well say Jones is from the country.

Compared to NYC yeah, but where he lives is not very country. About the only thing Rochester has in comparison to NYC is the crime rate. We are closer to Pittsburgh than NYC.

Notre Dame

We can really go in any direction with Holley, but Notre Dame is hosting him this summer. The Irish are doing well in NYC.

ND was ESPN'S prediction of the top uncommitted players

Thanks. This dude has never struck me as guy inahurry to pull the trigger and commit. I don't see him committing this weekend but would love to be wrong.

Does anyone else feel like Loy is being a big homer with his predictions? Everyone that visits ND he throws up there.

I do. His intentions are good as he is trying to create buzz and excitement but it seems he's throwing darts at a board in a way. There isn't much out there to think Holley commits to ND this weekend but who knows, hopefully he's right.

I hope he's right. He can also predict Lorenzo Carter, Solomon Thomas, etc. to ND but that doesn't mean it's based on any information he hasn't read on this site.

I like the Crystal Ball concept, but it's meaningless if reporters indiscriminately choose schools or act like huge homers. There really isn't any reason to pick Holley right now unless he wants to 1) look like a dumbass or 2) look like a freaking oracle on NSD.

I don't think Loy, or myself, is saying he will commit this weekend. In fact, I would be absolutely SHOCKED if he committed this weekend.

I'm simply saying I think this guy ends up Irish when it's said and done. As another poster said, and I agree with 100%, he's not in a hurry.

Loy has picked the following players to ND:

Holley
Holmes
Hoge ('15)
Kizer (committed)
McKenzie
Morgan
M. Nelson
Q. Nelson (committed)
Watkins
West (committed to UK)
Yeargin

The only one I really disagree with is Morgan and I think he's 50/50 with ND and Vanderbilt. The Matt Nelson one may also be homerish.

He may have said he likes our chances with Carter, Thomas, etc, but he has not predicted them in the Crystal Ball.

A lot of the Crystal Ball is just playing odds. If a kid is going into a visit with legit interest in the school he is visiting, just throw out a prediction in case he is blown away and decides to commit. 90% of the time the prediction is not made on inside info, but rather just following others predictions or playing the odds.
