Best Movie: Clerks
Best TV Show: Gaki no Tsukai

Clerks II has really grown on me. I didn't really care for it the first time, but it gets better the second time. It's definitely not Clerks, but still has some great dialogue on par with the original.

Since we seem to be on a Denzel kick...honorable mention to Virtuosity with pre-famous Russell Crowd going completely over the top

To many to say considering all the generes.

Movies some good ones:
Godfather 2
Amores Perros
American History X
The Filth and the Fury (best music doc in my opinion)
The Decline of Western Civilization 1 and 2
Big Wednesday (must watch for surfers)
China Town
LA Confidential
Thin Red Line
Kingdom of Heaven
Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke

TV Shows:
Sopranos hands down best writing for a show.
Frontline for reporting. Their series on both Mexico's drug war and the financial collapse were phenomenal.

Amores Perros you say? What about "Y Tu Mama Tambien"

That's a good one but I liked Amores Perros better. As for TV shows has anyone happened to catch some of the really low budget telenovelas they show from time to time that were basically recorded using hand held digital cameras? Those are really weird.

Some more good ones:

American Me (kinda hokey at times)
No Country for Old Men
Last Man Standing (Bruce Willis' best movie in my opinion)
Breaker Morant (another great "war" movie watched it like 10 times when it came out on HBO way back when)
A Bridge Too Far
Mystery Train (to up my hipster cred)
Seven Samurai
Dead Alive (one of the best zombie movies ever in my opinion)

I'm pretty sure Denzel modeled himself after that guy. Read up on that whole Rampart scandal and it will blow your mind lol

People thought that both "Training Day" and "The Shield" were way over the top. But when you read about the LAPD Rampart scandal, some of the real life stuff was actually crazier than anything that made it onto the screen. Like the saying goes "truth is stranger than fiction."

I love the book but oddly I haven't seen the movie.

Just finished Lost. Thought it really lost direction after the third season (no pun intended), but I had to see it to the end. Really liked the last episode, can't believe people hated it.

TV show: The Wire
Movie: Memento or Shawshank Redemption

Shawshank is probably one of the movies I've seen the most in my life, along with Pineapple Express and the original Star Wars trilogy.
