"I have a top five," he said. "They are Kentucky, Alabama, Louisville, Ohio State and now Notre Dame,"
Elam broke down the five standing out.
Kentucky - "In-state school. SEC program. Great coaching staff, and I have built a lot of really good relationships with the players and other recruits. They are right there at the top. They are telling me they will run a four front and are telling me I can play anywhere from a three to a five because of my speed and quickness."
Alabama - "Alabama, national champions. They contend every year for one. Coach Nick Saban is a great coach. I think a lot of people value his opinion. I think it's a better chance for me to get where I want to go, which is the NFL after college. I think it would open up a lot of doors for me and would be a great opportunity."
Louisville - "Louisville, moving to the ACC. I think by far the best coaching staff I have ever been around. Coach Charlie Strong and Coach Carter, I have a great relationship with the coaching staff. They are still in-state, so that is a great opportunity too."
Ohio State - "They are going to be the pre-season No. 1 team and they don't lose a game last year either. I think it's a big-time offer, a great program and it could be a really good opportunity."
Notre Dame - "The offer yesterday was big. They run a 3-4, and I want to play the nose primarily at the next level. They were in the national championship, so that is a plus too."
