Also, laughable that he says he cares about academics and is looking at engineering... but Virginia Tech gets cut in favor of Alabama who was "doing a $25 million project on something"... kid is a joke.

Bama has recently poured a lot of money into their engineering program. This is a field they have lagged behind lil bro Auburn for a long time but are starting to get more and more students enrolling with that as their primary major. Still, not on par with a lot of other schools but they have to start somewhere.

As far as Hand's comments about academics, I think he is talking more to the hand than anything.

I see what you did there.

"I am pursuing a major in Sports Management or Sports Marketing, and Virginia Tech doesn't offer that," said Hand. "And I didn't get a good feel for the professor at South Carolina, I just didn't feel it. So I'm focusing on my top three...."

lol that's bullshit, dropped South Carolina because he didn't "feel it" with one professor? There's something else going on here.

Was South Carolina ever even on his list?

No shot UM lands Fournette, given they took Derek Green last year. This isn't the NBA - one and done isn't a thing. But I think Hand might be theirs.

Crazy after their season that they might land the #1 and #2 recruits.

Well he just cut South Carolina from his list so I am guessing they were on his list

And Alabama took Henry, Jones, Kamara and Tenpenny last year, four elite RBs. I think he will end at LSU but i do not see the commitment of Green as a reason to cut Michigan. If UM land Peppers and Hand, they can create a domino effect like Ole Miss last year IMO.

Someone needs to advise this kid that only about 20% of Sport Management / Marketing majors actually end up in the sports industry and about 90% of people in the sports industry didn't major in Sport Management / Marketing.

perhaps the professor told him he would have to come to class and sit exams and Hand said "No Dice! You just lost yourself a sale Mister!"

Thats how it went down, in my mind.

Yeah I don't understand how he doesn't like ND.

You guys serious? He's looking for a big football factory where he fits well and can play 3 years before going pro. Everything else is irrelevant smoke. The day ND lands a kid from Hoodbridge will be a very interesting one indeed.

Their schedule is weak sauce.. They'll start out 6-1 with a loss to us and most likely finish 9-3 at the worst.

2013 Michigan Wolverines Football Schedule

This is unfortunate. The Big Blue hype machine will be in full force all season. Recruits are going to continue to flock to this program. I hate it.

The same can be said with OSU. They'll probably go undefeated again. Does anyone honestly think OSU gets a title shot w/ this non-conference schedule? 2013 Ohio State Buckeyes Football Schedule

God, I hate the B1G.

I believe this to be the case, because Alabama is still on the list. Alabama doesn't offer what he claims to want to major in to undergraduates.

They're going to open the season in the top 10. If they run the table, they're absolutely getting a title shot.

Is ND, Michigan's biggest home game this year? If so we could totally ruin there big recruiting weekend. Juju I'm pretty sure is visiting Michigan for the ND game. Maybe Fournette, Hand, Adoree Jackson etc will too

Ohio State game in Ann Arbor is going to be pretty big. Definitely not going to be a big recruiting weekend for 2014 though, as Michigan should have 98% of the class wrapped up by then, my guess is the OSU game will be more about 2015's and 2016's. The ND UTL game will no doubt be the biggest recruiting weekend of the year for Michigan.

He set an announcement date of Nov. 14. He's taking officials to UM (vs. ND), Bama, and UF but he's not sure when for the last 2. According to his HS assistant coach, he knows where he wants to go and the officials are to make sure.

**** this.

Don't think he's using the last two (at least not to schools besides those three).

OV to Michigan - Set for September 7th vs Notre Dame
OV to Florida - Not set but I would assume November 2nd vs UGA
OV to Alabama - Not set but I would assume November 9th vs LSU
Decision Date - November 14th

Safe to say Michigan leads, hope Bama blows him away as they likely will get the last visit

I hate Michigan, but I think I'd rather him go to UM than Bama with UM coming off the schedule. I feel (and am hopeful) that we would be more likely to see Bama in the upcoming years (in the NCG) than we are to see Michigan

I honestly think Bama is just in it because they are Bama and are the it program at the moment. LSU and USC used to be the it program, and that's why I think they are "on the list", but not really on the list. He's not a fit for Alabama's defensive scheme as he's a 4-3 weakside end with the potential to move to the strongside. Hand intends to major in a program that Alabama has but doesn't offer to undergrads. Alabama really isn't a fit football schematic wise or academics wise in terms of what he's looking for.

As a Michigan fan, I'm very worried about Florida. They run the 4-3, that's what he knows from high school, that's what he fits in at in college and beyond, and the Sports Marketing & Management program that he wants to major in is run by a fella that used to work for Michigan's and it's largely based on Michigan's program. I think Florida is the real threat to Michigan's lead here.

Just my two cents.

call me crazy, but I don't think Saban is going to be at Alabama for much longer. He's 62 years old, he's already won 3 BCS titles at Alabama, there really is nothing left for him to prove in college. If he wins it again this year, I think he's as good as gone.

I think much like Pete Carroll, he's going to take another stab at the NFL, but this time it will be completely on his terms and he won't jump on the chance to coach a turd franchise (which is what the Miami Dolphins are and have been for a long time) like he did last time.

If the Detroit Lions run amok this season and Schwartz gets fired, that's not a bad job to jump at. There is a really nice young nucleus of talent there. Stafford has all of the talent in the world, huge arm, young kid with great upside. He'd have a young, proven, supremely talented QB. Stafford just turned 25 and he's thrown for 5,000 in back to back seasons with a very average OL and literally no running game. Yes, his TD numbers were way down in 2012, but literally every WR on the roster except Megatron was injured in 2012. Broyles, Young, Burelson, all injured. Burelson missed 10 games, Young 8, and Broyles was a rookie and missed 6.

Megatron goes without saying, most dominant WR in the game. Reggie Bush was a huge pick up for that offense and will give them a huge shot in the arm because of his versatility to run and catch to go along with homerun speed. That offense was so much more explosive with a healthy Javhid Best catching passes out of the backfield. On defense they have a young star on the interior in Suh and another one in the making in Fairley who had 6 sacks in his 2nd year in the league. Saban didn't have a QB last time he was in the NFL, and you can't win in the NFL without a QB.

Not saying he's going to Detroit, but I could see him going to a young team with a lot of young talent like that where all they'd really need is a few personnel pieces and a new coaching staff.

I despise you and have nothing but contempt for your school's team, but it's good to have a Lions fan on here. But I think Schwartz can get us back to the playoffs. We desperately need corners though.

I'm with you on Michigan, but it's for a different reason. Whichever school gets Hand will be getting a guy that will attract other recruits. If he goes to Michigan, their class is pretty much done for 2014 so he won't bring anyone else with him. If he goes to Alabama or UF, he could potentially sway ND targets to those schools. Even if they aren't ND targets, he'll help bring more talent to the SEC. I'm ready to see the SEC reign end.

I think much like Pete Carroll, he's going to take another stab at the NFL, but this time it will be completely on his terms and he won't jump on the chance to coach a turd franchise (which is what the Miami Dolphins are and have been for a long time) like he did last time.

I hate to break it to you, Tom, but the Lions are a "turd" franchise. Saban isn't going anywhere after Alabama.
