Lets assume Cornwell goes to Alabama:
2014: David Cornwell high 4on Rivals
2013: Cooper Bateman high 4on Rivals
2012: Blake Sims 4on Rivals
2011: AJ McCarrron high 4on Rivals
Are u gonna tell Nick Saban he's recruiting wrong?
Blake Sims was a 2010 recruit. Phillip Ely was the 2011 recruit and he was a 3* for Alabama. McCarron wasn't 2011 as well, he was 2009. I am confused.
I am confused as well haha
Rivals roster must have not taken into account redshirts/not been updated? I picked a Jr, So, Fr, and then Cornwell

It looks like a may have accidentally provided evidence for drake's point, but I still disagree
Visiting June 20th per Rivals
That is surprising, didn't think we would have see his name connected with ND again after the day he was offered
I didn't either but this may be a good way to get some pressure on Kizer and/or Park. I want both those guys ahead of Cornwell because I think they are better fits for the offense currently. After I said that I re-watched some if his tape and I still feel that way but damn he's got a big arm.
OKLAHOMA CITY -- No decision was made regarding the eligibility of Norman (Okla.) North quarterback David Cornwell by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association on Tuesday afternoon.
A motion was unanimously approved by the OSSAA’s board of directors that a special board meeting will be June 12 at 1:30 p.m. if the matter is not resolved by that time.
Cornwell, who is the No. 1-ranked pocket-passing quarterback and No. 24 in the ESPN 150, was hoping to hear an announcement Tuesday regarding whether or not he will be eligible for his senior season at Norman North.
Cornwell is classified as a senior but will be in his fifth year removed from eighth grade in the fall. It is against the OSSAA rules to have a fifth year of eligibility except for extreme cases. The Cornwell family believes it has one of those cases.
Cornwell, his parents and attorneys addressed the OSSAA board at 10 a.m., and the family requested the issue be dealt with in executive session. Fifteen minutes later, the executive session was over, and the board ruled to table the issue.
The Cornwell family brought new information to the case Tuesday, and the board felt it didn’t have enough time to read the information and make a judgment in the ruling.
Following that, attorneys for both the Cornwells and the OSSAA, as well as OSSAA representative David Jackson and the Cornwell family, met in a separate meeting for more than an hour.
After the board reconvened, it was announced that if it is deemed necessary, the June 12 special board meeting would take place.
Cornwell attorney Mitch D. McCuistian said all questions regarding the matter will be answered at a different time and declined to comment Tuesday afternoon.
Cornwell said he still feels confident they have met the criteria for an extra year of eligibility.
“I can't comment, other than to say that I believe we meet the criteria and I expect a positive decision on my eligibility soon,” Cornwell said.
The issue at hand is the 2011-12 school year when the family lived in Florida. Cornwell intended to be homeschooled by his mother. Cornwell did not attend school or play football as his mother, Debbie, battled a debilitating health condition.
Cornwell moved to Jones (Okla.) High for the 2012 season. He threw for 2,742 yards with 27 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Following the season, the family moved from Jones to Norman, Okla., and Cornwell has enrolled at Norman North.
Cornwell has earned an invite to the Elite 11 quarterback finals next month as well as a spot in The Opening, an all-star showcase of the best recruits in the nation.
Cornwell visited Alabama last weekend and has planned trips to Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech in the next couple of weeks where he hopes he will be ready to make his decision.
Doesn't he have some high school eligibility issues? Not sure of the exact situation, but if so, I have to believe it will be hard for him to come to ND.
I don't think it's anything which would prohibit him from getting into school. IIRC this is technically his 5th year in HS because he took sometime off because his mom was sick. He would need a waiver to play is my understanding but his academics are fine.
Edit: Yep that's what I read
he doesn't have issues getting into BAMA...the issue was bama wanted more than 1 years worth of tape and that's all he has...they wanted him to throw in front of them also but they stated they just wanted to see more tape on his development throughout the season...don't remember where, but i read it
Makes sense.
If there are no issues with him then eligibility wise, I am really excited about this. ND's is getting their top 3 remaining QB prospects up to ND to see in person this month. This is huge.
Saban usually requires two years of tape and will probably stick to it with Cornwell even though he is highly rated. As most probably know, Saban doesn't rank recruits by the number of stars they have but rather a very mythotical process he used while under Bill Belicheck. That's the reason he requires the film.
And this is Cornwell's only problem with Bama?
Speaks to his character that he would stay home to help take care of his sick mother, and hope all is well now, but I wonder if he will have the transcripts to get into ND with that being the case.
