Seriously, let me officially apologize for not using italics. I don't know why I got out of the habit but that is a couple posts I was kidding on that I didn't use the "I"!
That not withstanding, I let this go on for a quick minute. Since the Kissme-Denard affair you have repeatedly made disparaging remarks toward me in your posts. All I have ever done is copied people on your private posts, that were full of filth, toward others and me. Posts you have denied making to others, while you (also) privately disparaged me to them while you tried to promote yourself. Which probably is why this is still such a hot button for you.
Being that you consider yourself an educator of youth, I thought I would point out this discrepancy. (Also I am concerned that someone that can get hooked by anyones behavior so easily be left alone with adolescents.) Yes I have been around for a while, but I know about character, good and bad.
As far as Taxi Driver(1976); my generation lived that movie. Some guys that I served with lived that movie when they came back to the world. And that line is the most over quoted cliché from celluloid. Usually, people that have a strong enough memory to remember the words, expect to be considered funny because they just say them; they think what is humorous is that they are so different than Travis. In your case, ironically it is funny because you seem to have had the same kind of emotional explosion and behavioral break that Travis Brickle did.
I think also think that it is funny that you take the tact of the younger posters. (Truth be said, you are a bit longer in the tooth, aren't you?) Regardless, this is the same kind of passive-aggressive disrespect that youngsters have shown some of the more respected posters as of late. I have seen OMM, dshans and a couple others treated this way. My hypothesis is that we graybeards were raised in a different era, where we were pointed at achieving some kind of individuality, where that was respected, and so sought after. Whereas today the goal seems to be all about being as cookie cutter as the next guy. And when I look back that is what I miss most, it is the characters. So consider my IE persona a homage, to those 'characters' that influenced me growing up and I will consider your impotent attempts to insult me in this thread as proof that I have succeeded in my goal.
I have no reason to carry this on, and I have no particular disregard (or regard) for you, but I will only continue this if the moderators move these few posts into a new thread in the LEPLOUNGE titled something like la vs. Bogs.
