SO when will we find out for sure if he is in or out? Or do we wait to report day?

There hasn't been a time table set, but it could happen any day. All that has to be said on NDs part is that they aren't letting him out of his LOI, if that's what he wants, and then wait for his response (going to ND for a year, JUCO, or sitting out). Theoretically, it could all happen today. One would think the start of summer ball would be the last day for a decision.

I'm glad that ND is giving BK some room to work. It's just disappointing to me that one high school course is the case for the number 1 DL in the country to not be able to enroll at ND. I"m not saying let 20 kids in a year who are an academic gamble to the university. I'm saying it's stupid to not gamble on 5 kids who wouldn't otherwise get into ND as a student/athlete. I know that BK has been able to get some "exceptions". In a time when recruits are getting money, cars, parents' jobs, ND needs to be able to even the playing field by admitting the 5 or so aforementioned cream of the crop players. I believe we are on the same page TP. I just have a hard time with the people who have become an angry mob on here to EV, when they clearly are just going off speculation.

Athletes should have to have the same high school requirements as any other student.

This expresses my sentiment towards recruiting right now:

From Lou at BGI:

It's hard to quantify percentages and I'm not comfortable doing so without gaining some more insight.
First impression is he probably won't come here, and the fact that his family only denied via a Twitter report by the Sacramento Bee writer that it's not academic or personal related — instead of just debunking all the rumors and saying he's enrolling — lead me to believe he's more out than in at this point.

I also want to point out that it is just not a) report to ND, or b) pay your way somewhere else, or c) free release from LOI to go anywhere and play immediately. We can actually let him transfer to another school and have to sit out a year which would probably be either the first or second likeliest thing to happen at this point.

Right. He can receive financial aid like any other scholarship athlete while he is serving the one-year penalty. But then he'll have three years to play three seasons at the new school; he loses a year of eligibility in addition to having to serve a year-in-residence.

The way I see from what is being speculated upon.

The national signing day incident, meh, but when your fed up you tend to look back and remember every little thing to justify your feelings, from EVs side.

Then the class clearance, the quote mentioned earlier stated that his grades were good enough for the NCAA ND falls under the ncaa, but so does the SEC and its academic requirements, I think it's telling in his choice of words in regards to his academics.

Sounds like could be some small bumps along the way between EVs camp and ND, and perhaps maybe this admissions thing is the final straw.

ill up it to 99.99%. There is no reason the family wouldnt of come out or EV and give a statement saying he was going to ND.

I don't mean to be that guy, I can't read it but I am 99.1% sure he isn't coming. Miracles happen everyday, but we better fire up another prayer thread.

Oh I know. Just curious if this clarified anything.

I don't know where this is from

Because this was a PM on the other site and not from the mods I will share it. I don't know who it's from or who even it was to, but it's more info:

Five-star 2013 defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes has been attempting
to get out of his National Letter of Intent to Notre Dame, according to
sources.
Vanderdoes, the elite prospect from Auburn (Calif.) Placer, has
appealed to the National Letter of Intent office to be let out of his
NLI. Notre Dame, to date, has not agreed to release Vanderdoes and has
continued to resist Vanderdoes' appeal.
According to sources, Vanderdoes is basing his appeal on an
undisclosed personal reason that would make it difficult for him to be
far away from his family. The effort began soon after he signed the
NLI on Signing Day back in February.
The situation currently stands with the NLI office reviewing both sides of the case.
If Notre Dame ultimately decides not to release him, it's
believed Vanderdoes will not go to Notre Dame under any circumstances
and opt to sit out the next year and redshirt at the school of his
choice. It is unlike a transfer in that Vanderdoes would not need a
release from Notre Dame but merely abide by the NLI rules for rendering
the NLI null and void, which dictates that a student athlete be enrolled
at another member institution for a year and lose one season of
eligibility. Vanderdoes would be eligible to play in 2014, and have
four years to play three.
If Notre Dame does agree to release him from the NLI, Vanderdoes
will be free to go where he wants and be immediately eligible for the
2013 season.
No other school can speak to Vanderdoes until he is released from
his NLI. If Notre Dame refuses to release him from the NLI, and the NLI
office refuses his appeal to let him out of the Notre Dame NLI,
Vanderdoes needs to inform the NLI office of his intent to enroll
elsewhere before he can start the process.
There will most likely be some development in the situation very
soon, since the appeal process has been going on for sometime.
It's believed that Notre Dame will ultimately agree to release
Vanderdoes from his NLI, mostly because it wouldn't look particularly
good for Notre Dame to not be sympathetic to a recruit when he has a
serious personal reason to remain close to home.

If that is true, he has been trying to get out of NLI since right after he signed it. Unless there is something family related (ex. parents poor health) I lose a lot of respect for kids and families like this. Anzalone's are in the same boat. No sense of commitment at all.

I want him at ND but that just frees up space to pick up someone else this cycle. Probably says a lot for the recent PWO.

The **** is the "personal reason"? And no, we shouldn't let him out of the LOI period and I hope we don't. And UCLA isn't exactly close to home just sayin'

Yes. because guys of EV caliber are just laying around waiting to come to ND.

Come on.

Lets not sugar coat a turd. This sucks and is becoming too common with Kelly and his staff.

I am very disappointed. What a bummer. I was so excited to get a dlineman of his caliber to come to ND. I thought he could become a superstar. Totally bummed.

Losing these 5 star athletes is becomming a very bad trend. Or arguable 5 star type athletes. Lynch, Neal, Gunner, Prestwood, EV. Man, what other school has lost this much top talent?

Just bummed.

Big deal. Next man in, and don't forget the staff got him to sign in the first place. You don't think they can get elite talent? Tell that to Tuitt, Nix, et cetera.
