Nelson himself is moving up in the rankings too after his showing this past weekend at the Rivals and Nike events. I know the Rivals guys especially were extremely impressed and said he was due for a bump.

Funny on 247, according to their list, he has dropped 28 spots. Crazy.

247 doesn't appear to be on top of their game this year. Nelson ranked 233rd is silly, but Hood at #127 is a felony.

Here is something that I find more interesting than the gross numerical ranking of the team.

On the 247 listing of the top 247 players, the following are listed:
Trumbetti
Hood
Hayes
Bars
Martini
Weishar
Nelson.

On the 247 composite, the following are listed:
Hood
Bars
Trumbetti
Nelson
Mustipher
Hayes
Byrne
Brent.

What's the point??? On one of these lists or the other EVERY ONE OF OUR TEN VERBALS IS LISTED. Coach and the staff aren't "missing" on anyone! What a talent evaluation and in-the-field recruiting team this is. Man are we blessed.

On the RIVALS site, Notre Dame's average verbal's rating is 3.8, easily the current best of any team.

Kudos, Coach... heartfelt Kudos.

I'd say ND is off to a very good start in recruting.

Even if we weren't though, it is good to remember that recruiting is a marathon not a sprint.

I know USC still came away with a good class last year but think of how much things change from where they were at the end of the summer to where they finished up.

And if you go by the average which will matter when teams start filling up we are in #1 by ourselves with 3.9

Hey has anyone seen "Rank by Offers. Got this from another site, but its a new method that ranks players by their offers and awards a point value for it. Also ranks teams class rankings by this method too. Notre Dame is #1 and its players by far have the highest offer scores. Not sure if its eniterely accurate or up to date. Its not a new recruiting site or anything, just someones blog but I found it interesting.

Not worth the resources for some, they know they don't stand a chance.

This rankings by offers is a refreshing take as I tend to look at the offer list more than anything.

How does it work though? Player X could have an offer from ever non-AQ school in the country vs a player similar to Fournette who maybe only has SEC after him.

Are the schools on a weighted avg? Bama offer is worth 50 pts and Ark Little Rock is .5 pts? Not all offers are equal.

Then if Whiskey were running the site the weighted avg would be based on ROI.
