A) Don't say anything bad about this kid. He is a complete wide-body receiver, with speed. B) This kid does much better than 4.7 in the forty; he has the long-legged stride that makes him look like he is lollygaging it, but he can move. There was a play or two where he covered some real ground. C) Every indication is that he is another high quality, high character kid! D) Too bad he doesn't appear to have a quarterback that can get him the ball down the field.

What's so shocking about that? I don't agree he's #1 but he is really good

You may be right (that he isn't number one). But what do you think, Louie-Domer, mightn't he be number one for ND, with the needs we have as you see them?

Nothing is shocking about it. I just feel like an idiot for posting before I did my research lol

I don't understand how one service has him as the top receiver and another has him down at 33. How can there be that big of a difference?

Good question. I have no idea. There usually isn't that big of a difference in rankings

I don't know if it's just because it's early in the cycle or if it's just a weird year but it seems like rivals and 247 are way different on a lot of guys. Look at some of our guys.

Trumbetti is right around the top 100 on 247 and is a :s::s::s: on rivals.
Martini is 212 on 247 and is as low as a :s::s::s: can be on rivals

He showed really well at one of the rivals camps early and they came away extremely impressed. That's what seem to put him at number one in their eyes. Hemboldt at rivals speaks glowingly of him and compares him to Treadwell from last year at the same stage in his development. IMO, he is probably falls somewhere around Top 10. Very good but not the best.

Coach Elliot may have some help in the recruitment of Allen Lazard. Verbal commitments Alex Bars, Justin Brent, Elijah Hood, and Quenton Nelson will be in Chicago for the Rivals Challenge, along with wide receiver targets Allen Lazard, Malachi Dupre, and Josh Malone. This event couldn't come at a better time in their recruitment. Conveniently, Allen and his father visit Notre Dame on Monday, June 10th. Allen has been quite the camp warrior. He has an invite to the Opening(and a recent offer from Oregon), and he made the roster of the US Army All American Bowl.

Timing cannot be any better. Let the players get in his ear for 3 days, and then the 4th day he and his dad come to visit ND. Perfect timing if we are to seriously have a chance at flipping him.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Best of the best: RCS Awards

WR Allen Lazard, Urbandale, Iowa: For how physically impressive the 6-foot-5, 205-pound Lazard is and how athletic he is for that size, one of the overlooked aspects of his game is just how sure-handed the nation's No. 1 wide receiver is. Lazard catches everything with his hands, out away from his body, and is able to reel in passes others cannot.

Recieved a little bump on 247

Also don't know who got bumped out of our commits but someone did because the team composite ranking is higher

Weird post. Why would you say that he's unwilling to compete?

I took it as the point that he WILL compete for playing time but there are still a lot of other talented kids that will be able to compete with his skill set. ISU will undoubtedly offer more playing time as they are not usually snagging 4* WR. At least I believe that's what he meant.

FWIW, didn't get 5th star on new Rivals rankings, dropped a spot to #25 overall.

If we get him it's like reverse Robin Hood. Stealing from the poor to give to the rich. I'm okay with that here.

ISU's African-American GSR is among the worst in the nation at 45%. That's also a big contributor to ISU's degree value falling in the bottom quartile for BCS-caliber teams.

Plenty of opportunity for ND to distinguish itself here.

John Sears from a Des Moines news network:

Talked to Allen Lazard today, #1 WR recruit in the country. Says he's fully committed to Iowa St. Visiting ND for the experience.
