I had a rep bring in some Tanqueray Malacca gin yesterday. It went down really smooth straight at room temperature, which is remarkable for gin. It's a "wet" style gin, a little more sweet and mellow than the London dry style (think Bluecoat or Hendricks). It was launched in the late 90s and didn't move but it got a following among bartenders who advocated for its return. It's a good mixing gin, good for drinking in a long glass on the patio. Side note, "Malacca" is an insult that our two dishwashers from Ghana toss around. I'm not sure if its spelled the same, but it's possible that Tanqueray basically named their product "Hey Dumbass" Gin.
Green Flash West Coast IPA
Thanks for the info. So do you think it would do better in a Gin and Tonic than as it is a little sweeter vs a martini?
I think Dogfish head is the one of most overrated breweries going, not that it isn't good... But its price screams cream of the crop... 60 minute, Midas Touch and others are all good beers, but not worth the price... Ill take Rogue, Stone, Speakeasy, lost coast all over Dog fish... And they're all cheaper generally speaking, usually by a lot.
Seems like the state of Arizona is sold out of Old Weller 12y, and Total Wine isn't due to get another shipment until November.
Looked into some online options, and they're significantly more expensive.![]()
That's my go-to liquor. I has a sad.
I was drinking some red zin with the wife last night. I think this varietal is falling out of flavor for me. I don't care for the sweet aspect anymore. I'm really liking Carmenere lately' it's dry and spicy but still full-bodied and robust.
^ looks like you're doing some work!! Haha
Moose Drool for a bit. Then switching to clean off the liquor cabinet. Today was my last clinical rotation ever. I plan on getting mildly inebriated.
Finished law school tonight. Had my last two bottles of KBS. Now having a bottle of Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger.
Congrats. Now it is time for you to pour a whisky.
