Will participate in the Rivals camp this weekend, along with Sam Mustipher, Jay Hayes and Thomas Holley. I am sure Hayes and Mustipher will be in his ear all weekend.

Hope they all have great showings, and continue to build a camaraderie that should extend to South Bend in a couple years.

Hayes tweeted last Wednesday that he wasn't going to the Rivals camp. Not sure if there was another one he was supposed to attend or what.

Hm yeah idk. I know there was one last week that Mustipher attended. Rivals just came out with a preview for the Jersey one this weekend and he is highlighted in it. Guess we'll have to see if he meant last weekends or this weekends.

TJ on II said that he expects this to come to a close soon. He thinks Nelson and Bars could make decisions in the next couple of weeks or so.

Also Rivals said that Hayes was on the list of players attending the NJ camp but Sampson heard that he wasn't going to be able to make it.

If Bars and Nelson committed, and I expect that to happen, does that shut the door on guys like Jones? Not that he is going anywhere but Urbanville. I assume the staff would basically shut OL down outside of Smith, right?

ND is #1, likes campus, business school, and Coach Hiestand (called him one of the best in CFB). Looking at academics, people, and football success. Wants to decide soon, process is stressful. Visit to ND was 10/10

I would have to think so. I like Bars and Nelson more than Jones. OL haul would be a huge success and we just sit back and focus all our efforts on Braden Smith.

Heistand has really killed it in recruiting. Gotta love the back to back offensive line classes if we are to land Bars and Nelson.

Per Jake Brown Nelson is pretty much down to OSU and ND and Nelson's parents spent much of the day talking with Mustiper's dad.

Was also invited to the Rivals Five Star Showcase along with Mustipher. If we can land Bars and Nelson. According to Rivals ranking that would give us the #2 OG, #6 and #8 OT's in the country. That would be very impressive after last years haul.

If ND fills out on the lines, I know one poster (among many) that would be very excited (OMM).

This level of recruiting is what it's going to take to win a title (against an SEC opponent).

FTFY

Notre Dame nearly played Ohio State, Kansas State, or Oregon in the championship. I have no doubts they'd have beaten the first two 7+ out of 10 times, hypothetically.

Simply saying, the program is great where it is. I'm loving how the program is stepping up to a annually elite level, but in perspective they're pretty damn good right now and could win a title in 2013.

This is a good point, but lets be real. The SEC Championship game is pretty much a play-in game for the National Championship. It'll take a divine miracle to have a championship game that doesn't include a member of that conference. And we all know that if it's a down year that keeps one of those teams out, people will automatically discredit the champion saying that had the SEC not been in a down year, they would've won. It's because of this, that I want ND to continue to build a program that competes with anyone in the SEC on a weekly basis and can eventually beat them in the National Championship game. It's the only way to shut people up.

With that said, I agree with you. This team is still a very good football team and we should all expect good things this year.

They will be a better team but have a worse record. Last year was a perfect storm that will be nearly impossible to replicate. If bk got them to 12-0 this year, it would be more impressive to me than last year.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a perfect storm. The year before could've been special too had it not been for so many turnovers. This year, the record may not indicate improvement (mainly because there's nowhere to go but down...sans winning it all), but this team should improve significantly in certain areas. And if they do, they're more than capable of putting together another run.

If we land two great back to back line classes, then we can play with Bama.

Perhaps, offensively. But that didn't seem to much of a problem this past year. The problem was our defense stopping them. That whole discussion has been had.

Back to Nelson, landing him allows ND to take another step in the right direction. I'm hoping he makes the call soon and keeps this momentum rolling.

It has to be exciting to any OL high on us to see who he will get to block for when he comes in. Bryant, Folston, and Hood and possibly Starks.

Make the call big fella. The Golden Army awaits your presence!

Our offense caused a lot of our defensive woes in the title game. They had great field position to start almost every drive.
