I'm sure they dig it recruiting wise, but as a practical thing? They hated it.
If they go back which I would like, they need to do so before a bye week to accommodate travel time and jet lag. In the Holtz days with an 11 game schedule that was quite doable. With 12 games that means Opening overseas in Game One then a bye in Week Two. Doesn't lend itself to a mid season break, or a mid-term break (ND's preference), or a break before a big game.
If ND scheduled team's like Southwest Indiana Tech, like the SEC does, it would be doable. But following with a Purdue, MSU, or Clemson sets the table for an upset.
The game would be a sellout between the ND Irish, BC's Celtic connection, and the indigenous population.
