I've said it a couple time before but there are more things working against ND here than for them. I have a friend that coaches in Chicago and has met the kid personally a couple of times. Based off of chatter in that area He's more like the recruits from that school than the players on ND's roster. I'll leave it up to you to read into it what you will but unless he becomes a frequent visitor and starts talking up ND big time I wouldn't even consider us having a slight chance. IMO he follows Treadwell to Ole Miss.

Not saying you are wrong so don't take this as an attack but that is the complete opposite of how Sapp laid out the situation a couple months back.

And I like Sapp as a reporter - but based on things that my buddy has seen and heard inside coaching circles, he's probably not an RK.....well, you know. Crete Monee kids seem to have different priorities, which is why I feel like he's going to end up at Ole Miss with Standifer and Treadwell. Not saying it's impossible - just very, very unlikely. I certainly don't know the kid personally, never met him before in my life. But I trust my friend's opinion on him, in this instance more than Sapp. It's a lot like Clifton Garrett's situation. A lot of people were sure that we were a real option for a long time - but he's never had the grades. I heard that from Joe when people thought we were a serious contender in his top 5. He may not even have the grades to get into MSU or tOSU. It seems like a lot of Chicago kids have recently given ND a lot of lip service, but haven't considered ND.

Treadwell is going to be pulling him hard to come to Ole miss. Kid should have his own 247 recruiting rating.

Just think how different things might be if Standifer had ended up at ND ...

I doubt much different. Treads wasnt going to come here regardless if Standifer was here or not, sure that would have helped but in the end Treads had different motives

Official 247 reports have always had us as either the leader or in his top group. The only ppl that say we don't have a chance (drake29) aren't official reports. Not saying they aren't right but just FYI

Yeah, it's really strange how the underground sources and the recruiting media are saying completely different things about Morgan and his recruitment. It's like this kid has a Jekyll and Hyde thing going. No idea who is right, but the stark differences are striking.

is a book by Stephen King which was also turned into a movie. Good book. Pennywise still creeps me out.

It is the "Freebird" or "Stairway" of books, give or take a coupla hundred pages.

Bates doesn't have us in his top 5, so I wouldn't say it's too realistic of a shot at this point.

Top 5's aren't fluid or anything. He even said it wasn't his final 5. If we push hard we can be in it - the only team to beat in my eyes is Tennessee.

There's only 4 ILB with offers we have a shot at IMO and this is how I would order them:

McMillan (a small one but he says he wants to visit)
Booker
Morgan
Yeargin III

I'm betting more offers will come out this spring though.

I guess we viewed 'realistic' differently, but I know it can change which is why I said at this point.

How can Tennessee be the only team to beat? You think his other 4 aren't higher than ND at this point? Also, said he wants to decide soon.

Because I think Tennessee is far and away his leader, and that he has spoken glowingly of ND in the past but it seems we haven't been coming after him that hard. You even saying 'at this point' illustrates that the bottom 4 is fluid, but I guarantee you the only team that is a lock to be in it to the end is the Volunteers, hence why they are the team you need to beat.
