That's very true, but as ND fans, keep in mind that Manti Te'o story about how he got duped was viewed by the public as one of the biggest lies on behalf of a college athlete in the last few years, and hardly anyone believed him, yet he was indeed telling the truth.

Easy to rush to judgement when the story already fits your narrative. I'm skeptical, but I see what you're saying.

Before we make any inferences, much less conclusions,

Anyone know the approximate price tag on that car? (I'm not great at determining cadillac model years from the back sooooo)

And to go with that, how well-off is his family?

lastly... how often has he tweeted with grammar/spelling like that before, and does he tend to revert to similar "text-speak" when he's running out of characters?

I think those three factors can tell us just about all we need to know.

So this is what we can expect whenever anyone acts like a moron or gets in trouble huh?

"Look at Manti! Nobody believed him either!"

So many people quick to crucify him, and now they're the same ones using it to suit their narrative.

**** up a rope.

"Stated his large rims throw his speedometer off"

lulz.

Add that to the long list of overdone excuses in the south.

I wish I had parents who bought me a nice car when I went to college! For realz though, their parents must have been so excited that all of their college savings could now go to buying them new cars!

Why the need for that? Relax, bro. Nope, no narrative whatsoever. I never made any premature claims about Te'o saying he was lying, or that he was in fact telling the truth, and had been duped. Take off the ND-colored goggles and look at it objectively. All I said was, what with the Manti Te'o situation, and him telling the truth, nothing should be assumed in any case. If people went around the country and asked people whether Te'o was telling the truth or not, you can bet that 90% of people would say he was not telling the truth. And what happened? Te'o was telling the truth.

Oh, I wouldn't be shocked if that were true, unfortunately. And a large portion of the 90% would spew garbage about how "ESPN and other media outlets are trying to save ND", which is absolute rubbish considering that the evidence concluded he was duped by a confused, and disturbed young man.

I don't how each family was financially (even before a few of them turned pro). If they did get paid, then Bama deserves to be penalized by the NCAA. No questions about it, regardless of whether or not the coaching staff had any knowledge of what went on (if in fact anything did). Any Bama fan who says otherwise is clueless. Plain and simple.

So whenever someone posts something idiotic (and revealing) on Twitter, I am supposed to believe that it's not true... even though it's his account... because Manti was being truthful?

"My Twitter got hacked" has to always be believed because Manti didn't do anything wrong.

OK buddy.

A more believable response would have been, " I was bored, and decided to troll Barn fans to see how long before they ran with it."

No, I was just making a point. Anything can happen. Once again, take off the ND-colored goggles and look at it objectively. Twitter accounts get hacked all the time. I'll give you an example: The AP's account got hacked not too long ago, with a tweet saying how the White House got attacked and the President was injured. I guess it was the AP who tweeted that, right? Ya....by your logic it must have.

Yes. DJ Fluker is equal to the United States Government in terms of hacker appeal.

Are you serious? That wasn't my point. My point was that Twitter accounts get hacked all the time, and provided one example. It was in response to his post saying that since if someone has a Twitter, nothing can be tweeted from that account that isn't from that person. No one could have hacked it or anything...

I'm saying to defend one of your guys just because Manti didn't do anything is idiotic.

So... the AP got hacked and Manti told the truth... He must be innocent!

Ladies and gentlemen.. Bama fan.

All those cars are POS. I was rocking the 89 Grand Prix (started college in 2001) with the dent in front fender.
Richardson grew up in a terribly depressed part of Pensacola, FL, father at the age of 16 (reported as saying it was a struggled to get food and diapers for his daughter) and I would be shocked if his mom could pay for the Yukon with the speed altering rims. Just sayen

I feel you rammer, countless things could have happened, we cannot accept a retracted tweet as a confession, BUT, itd be worthwhile to have an investigation if the NCAA wasnt super lame

Agree 100%. And if it was in fact Fluker who tweeted that, and an investigation is conducted and it's revealed that he did take money, Bama should be punished. No ifs, and's, or buts.

You apparently don't even know how to comprehend posts. Maybe I will have to type in all caps since you seem to struggle comprehending posts.

NONE OF US KNOW IF HE, HIMSELF, TWEETED THAT. UNLESS YOU WERE THERE AND WITNESSED HIM DOING SO, OR AN INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED AND PROVED, WITHOUT A REASONABLE DOUBT, THAT HE, D.J. FLUKER, TWEETED THAT. YOU STATE THAT THERE'S NO CHANCE IT WAS NOT HIM.

THE POINT OF MY POST: THE MANTI TE'O SITUATION, WHICH WAS ONE OF THE CRAZIEST IN A LONG TIME, GAVE THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF PEOPLE THE IMPRESSION THAT HE WAS A HUGE LIAR. WHY? BECAUSE PEOPLE MADE IDIOTIC CLAIMS ABOUT HOW HE CONDUCTED THE WHOLE THING WITHOUT KNOWING THE FACTS.

WHAT MY POINT WAS, IS THAT WE CANNOT MANDATE SOMETHING ABOUT HOW THERE'S NO WAY THAT SOMEONE WAS INNOCENT OR GUILTY OF SOMETHING UNLESS WE KNOW ALL THE FACTS. I NEVER SAID THAT MANTI WAS THE REASON. I SAID THAT, LOOKING AT THAT SITUATION, WHERE HARDLY ANYONE BELIEVED HE WAS INNOCENT, WHICH IS SOMEWHAT SIMILAR TO THIS SITUATION, WHERE THE MAJORITY BELIEVE FLUKER IS GUILTY.

Wow, a student at Bama can actually comprehend posts and state objective opinions using facts. Albeit a kid who came to Bama from Massachusetts, which has arguably one of the best education systems (yes, including High School) in the country, but still. I also took the liberty of bolding key parts, just in case you miss it.

To that other poster, where did I say that this situation was equal to the U.S. Government in terms of hacker appeal? Please show me. I suggest you re-read my post again.

Uh oh, Captain Capslock came out to play.

Just admit that the kid was stupid, he did not get hacked (No one really stands to benefit, and it's the biggest excuse of the interwebz era), and he should have thought before he tweeted.

Hacked makes very little sense in this case. If someone gained access to his account, why that? Best I can come up with is an Auburn fan trying to deflect media attention and/or start NCAA investigations. But in that case, why pick Fluker? maybe his account was by far the easiest to get into of the high-profile Bama Draft Picks?

IMO, if he got hacked, it was a crazy ex-girlfriend or something along those lines.
5% chance hacked,
47% chance Real but it was a prank type situation
47% chance real and honest
leaving 1% for the off chance that the NCAA did it, trying to give themselves a reason to investigate Bama, because I can't think of a stupider conspiracy theory

Chill dude... all caps is pretty unnecessary...

On the whole though, I agree with you general premise. It's impossible for any of us to say with certitude whether or not he was hacked. So this is much ado about nothing.
