Hahaha this is so ****ing weird to me. Reading stuff like this makes me glad ND didn't have frats/sororities. What could be lamer than trying to be cooler than everyone else. Like Brittney Griner says, just be you. Hahaha. Ok, so that part was tongue-in-cheek, but really, I just don't get it. It does not seem fun to be under pressure to have fun.

Hey, Frats are a great time.

Made some really good buddies for life.

Yeah, some of the stuff is immature...but it's a great way to network (in business), meet hot women, and party.

Totally agree. This is what is so freaking weird to me about "Greek" life. It seems like it's formalized high school cliques used to validate your "coolness"... with lots of drinking and sex mixed in. Could anything be more lame than having to whip your 'sisters' into acting a certain way to seem 'cool' and impress your 'coolness' upon others and move up the social ladder?

My girlfriend was a soritry girl, and the best part about the email, is that I can wihtout a doubt confirm that its totally realistic that a girl would send an email like this. Granted, her sorority wasn't middle of the pack, rahter top 3 and didn't have to worry about this ****, but there were girls, ie. a few of her best friends, who are absolutely f'n crazy when it came to greek life, who i absoluetly believe would write an email like this.

I totally agree. When I found out I didnt get into ND I did not want to go to a school that had Greek life. I dont need to buy my friends and or women. Xavier was looking to add social frats this year and the student body voted it down.

yea it was a little generalized, I have come from a Notre Dame perspective where they do not have fraternities or sororities and are still able to have a good time. Xavier does not have as great of a party scene, but I know about 60 percent of the people at Xavier.

I don't think it's too bad... If you go Greek, you know what to expect. Lots of BS, but you DO KNOW what to expect. If you're not going to be supportive of the house, well, you probably should get a wake up call. Not a C...P.... or vulgar tirade, but something.

Anyway, I've seen Frat Presidents and upperclassmen do far worse than this email.....

Glad I was a GDI that could hang out at any houses... They were definitely fun, but I would never had put up with the crap.

The Greek system is different depending on geographic location. I know the Eastcoast and South's Greeks are generally more image conscious (upper class snobby types) than Big Ten Greeks, who are generally middle class slobs that just like to get wasted and chase poon all day.
