This will be great for recruiting.

2015 schedule is almost done. 11 teams are scheduled, 5 ACC teams, 6 home games and 5 road games. It looks like they'll add a Shamrock Series game and that'll be it.

" Joining" the ACC is going to open lots of match ups for ND......case in point, this game

Went to a Clemson game about 8'ish years ago (my sister played volleyball at a D2 school near there).

Was AMAZING. Had a buddy with me who was an ND fan as well, we wore our ND gear, and everyone there was so great.

More importantly it opens us up to games in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, states that have been very kind to us in the past. A lot of prospects we would have missed from those states might end up choosing us, knowing that they'll get a homecoming.

It's great to be able to recruit in the South without playing SEC teams.

I know rivalries are good, but I'm sick of Michigan, Mich St., Purdue, USC and especially Navy. Bring on the new schedule.

I won't get sick of USC, Navy, or Sparty, but I am over Purdue and Michigan. When I was a kid those were big rivalries to me, but now they don't offer ND anything in recruiting.

Agree on most of those but I love beating Michigan and USC is a must for the west coast recruits.

Love it.

There is only one team I care to see every year and that's Navy.

The hand delivered notice on the field was kinda jacked up tho. I can still be a fan and say that.

F*ck Michigan.

You know how Michigan used to end a series with us?

"Crisler yelled to the Notre Dame coach, `This is the dirtiest, rottenest football team I've ever seen. I don't care what you say about Michigan football, we'll never play you again,'" Mieszkowski said.

Beat em 32-12. F*ck Michigan

My brother is a Clemson alum so I will definitely be going to this game. I've been to a few games at Death Valley and the atmosphere is really unbelievable. The tailgating is also awesome and you will not meet nicer people than the ones in Clemson, SC.

It's pretty funny to see everyone on NDN complaining about the ACC scheduling and potential opponents. I personally cannot wait to go to games in Clemson, Blacksburg and Tallahassee.

I'm sick of Michigan, and they are butthurt about us anyway. I.E. see Scout.com: Brandon Should Treat ND, Same Way Swarbrick Treated UM + ASU

Along with others, I'm excited not only about the atmosphere, but the pipelines as well.

Haha, I liked this one:

It was bush league the way nd has acted with this, alumni and university.

I suppose it wasn't bush league the way Michigan black balled Notre Dame and kept them out of the Big 10 years ago. Worked out well for us, we went on to decades of championships and being recognized as a perennial powerhouse. Michigan ended up with 1 1/2 championships since the 40s.

This'll be awesome. I do wonder, though. We're going to Florida State, going to Clemson. Do we get any good home games out of this deal? Or just more really-shouldn't-be-so-epic November Saturdays with the likes of Pitt and BC?

We truly get nothing out of playing Purdue. Aside, I guess, from a W.
But ND/Michigan, every year, is a great big national-game-of-the-week type of affair between two of the greatest programs in the sport. That kind of matters. Moreso than a trip to NC State.
I know why people around here don't like them, but I'll miss the skunkbears.

I'll miss the Michigan game too. They may have pulled out some squeakers against us for 3 years straight, but to see the utter failure they've displayed in '08 and '12...it's beautiful. There were so many turnovers...the only thing that can top a win against Michigan is a win against USC.

My brother-in-law is a Clemson. Good guy but he is quite Clemson obnoxious.

The only rivalries I've truly enjoyed are USC and Michigan every year since I can remember. And it's simply because I hate them both with a passion. Those two are the only games year in, year out, regardless of where the teams are ranked, I get excited.

Purdue
Pro - in-state game, tune up.
Con - everything else. If we don't blow them out, we look bad.
Grade - yawn, love Indiana

Navy
Pro - Love of country, history about why the rivalry started and continued.
Con - see above
Grade - yawn, love my Country

BC - they stay, just not every year.
Pro - Only because they are fellow Catholics, and mostly Irish.
Con - see above
Grade - yawn, love my Irish Catholics

Pit - not even going to write about them... Meh. Every three years, OK.

Mich St
Pro - It's been an OK rivalry of late, but honestly I don't know who really cares anymore.
Con - Well, I really can't find a pro....
Grade - two handed double yawn

Stanford
Pro - Great institution (but horrible fans). Geography, but we get that with USC.
Con - Not much. Very strong showing lately. Not sure they will sustain without Jimmy H.
Grade - My third favorite after USC and Michigan.

Bring on Clemson, GA Tech, FSU, VA Tech, NC, Miami. I'll take those recruiting hot beds, better weather, stadiums close to me in ATL, the hot chicks, and all the other stuff any day over what we are giving up.
