If he died yesterday and the mascot had the sign. I would think it was poor taste and they should fire the mascot but it's been almost 7 years.

Sincere apologies, my loud-mouthed feathered friend. I sensed sarcasm, but wasn't absolutely sure. A sober, un-high hippie can be as skeptical as the next guy.

As a result I went with a maybe yes/maybe no possibly/possibly not sarcastic response.

Hate to over-analyze here:

Did you ever think maybe some people in the Irwin camp were at least a little flattered he has left such a lasting impact that his name is still relevant/being used? I can't speak for them, but it's worth thinking about.

My main point: anyone at the game or who saw this picture online who has never heard of Irwin immediately googled him, and learned about his life and passion, furthering his message, cause, and legacy.
