Isnt his child in South Bend?

The plan was to move his girlfriend (who he has been with since 7th grade) and baby to South Bend, but Davonte felt it would be better if he were closer to home so she could be with her family. Can't be upset about that line of thinking.

And Prosise's move to WR looks better.

We will be fine. I am sure Onwaulu will see significant reps at that spot now, as will Carlisle and Folston when fall camp begins.

It sucks to lose such a talent, but I am not going to cry over a lost slot WR who clearly had his mind elsewhere.

Pretty much sums it up. His mind is in the right place and ND will keep on chugging. Let us not forget the reinforcements that arrive in June. This now frees up a scholly for this year and will be interesting to see who gets it.

It sucks, this came out of left field for me. But lets no go in meltdown mode.

Let me introduce you guys to Tarean Folston and Torii Hunter. Yes I know, these guys are as unproven as they come. But we can say the same thing about Neal, all he did was wave his hand up in the air last year.

It sucks but we can't knock someone for wanting to be there for his child

Really sad to see Dev go, I guess these things will happen, we are going to really need guys to seize the opportunities that are available. I really wish him well, it seemed like he was fully invested in the team, life just got in the way.

This is my next slot from this class. Tarean needs to get reps at CB. After seeing him there at the AS game, I was blown away.

I just heard this bit of information on the radio yesterday. I hope things work out for him and this does not hold true.

Three things that allow you to be more successful in life:
1) Get a high school diploma.

2) Do not have a child before your 20th birthday.

3) Do not have a child before you are married.

He is only 1 for 3.

I would agree with if we didn't land Cole Luke.I think Cole Luke is going to be an excellent corner back in South Bend. This is just another KVR scenario. Put him where you need him the most, and right now it seems like we need depth at the slot/hybrid spot.

He is not alone. It is happening more and more all the time.

It's good we have options but man, I was really looking forward to seeing him with the ball this year.

He seemd so excited to be on the team, lot of enthusiasm.

The topic came up because of the amount of high school dropouts right now. I am sure the three go hand in hand in a lot of cases.

If the news is true, it is probably best for the child but it sucks that he has to walk away from a degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Thinking in this order to start the year
Amir (if healthy)
TJ playing in and out
CJ
Folston

Personally I'd like to see Cam get a shot here (not sure about his hands). Although a bit oversized, James O and Ferg (same size as CJ) would be tough here. Wild cards D Bulter / R Kinlaw. Stetch K. Russell moving back.

I see your point. But I'd still rather have the quality depth at CB than slot.

Kelly almost never starts freshmen though.

It's not like he has a "no freshman can start" rule. Most of the time they aren't ready of there are just other players at that position that are better at that point.

Also, I'm pretty sure we had a Freshman All-American at cornerback last year

We do though. Think how young our guys at corner are. We will only lose Jackson in the next two years at corner eligibility wise (Wood will have a 5th year option), while adding the three from this year and whoever we get in the '14 cycle. That is building quality depth.
