IF he is healthy I always expected him to dominate. Was a starter as a frosh at USC because of his drive/talent. Just can't seem to stay healthy... and reports that he is still not 100% from nerve damage in his ankle?

His best trait is his gamebreaking speed. He's also incredibly versatile. If there is one player I can't wait to watch in the spring game it is Carlisle... I hope to be wowed.

This is the latest article on Carlisle (after a quick Google search). It is a Rivals Premium article so I hope it provides something about his injury. It's dated for February 4th, 2013.

I am a little worried about his size, but from a talent standpoint, he should be the favorite to win the starting job.

Yeah but that doesn't mean you will never get hit hard

Yeah, but the frequency of the hard hits and by whom is the issue. Running up the middle in our offense repeatedly and running wheel routes, outs, and hand off reverses are completely different beasts. You can't honestly think that Amir doesn't need more strength to do what he would be asked if he takes over as a primary RB over the Mamba, do you?

amir's size will be fine for what we need him to do. we're not going to ask him to tote the rock 25-30 times a game...maybe not even 20.

like theo last year we can hope to get him 15-20 touches a day running the ball and as a receiver out of the backfield...

No, I just don't think size will be a factor

His size should be just fine.
He might not be a 25 carry guy yet, but he'll get the majority.

Would love to see Bryant to come in and be too good not to play though

Theo checked in at the combine at 5'10" 201 lbs. He is listed on the roster at 5'11" 200. Seems like we weren't fudging the numbers too much on our roster.

With that, means going into last season Amir was 5'10" 185. Sat out the whole year (I would like to think they had him on some serious lifting regimine after finding out he would in fact Med RS). Plus another offeason with Longo, I dont see why this kid couldn't be 190 by season, 195 is a stretch but not completely out of the realm.

Theo and Amir were nearly identical coming out of high school according to ESPN (AC 5'10/181, TR 5'10/180). I see no reason why Amir couldn't end his career at 200 and running the ball well between the tackles.

If there was one thing Theo showed us it is a mind set/determination on how you are going to run the football. Does being 215+ help, absolutely, but not necessary.

From Mayo Clinic website:

The time for a broken collarbone to fully heal depends on the severity of the injury. In children, complete healing may take as little as three to six weeks. In adults, six to 16 weeks or more are often necessary for a collarbone to heal solidly.

So he should be back in plenty of time for Fall camp. It sucks because we all wanted to see him in the spring game but as long as he is healthy for Temple. It definitely raises a red flag for injury concerns

How long was Floyd when he broke his? Definitely seemed like less than 6 weeks.

Floyd was also a physical freak while Amir has huge injury concerns

Looks like Cam, Mahone, and George will battle it out in spring with Amir, Bryant and Folston fighting for time in fall camp

The good thing, as you listed, is that we have great, quality depth at running back. His injury sucks but I don't think our offense will miss a beat

Well, I'd think Amir has huge injury concerns if, for example, he kept tearing up the same knee (or knees). If he had re-injured his ankle, yep, I'd be pretty worried.

I'm not as sure that this isn't just bad luck. Unless you think he's just brittle.

I had the same injuryn twice when I was younger. 2 weeks of wearing a sling, 2 weeks being careful, then I was back to rough housing and it was strong as ever. The 2 injuries were to the same side, 2 years apart, but different areas. One I fell off a roof and landed on my shoulder, the other out of a tree. I asked the doctor why it didn't rebreak, he said the healed area was stronger than the other parts. I'm giving a big meh... Sucks, but will only keep him out of proactice a few weeks, then back to practice, just no contact for a few more. This all assumes the severity was the similar. And this was 30 years ago, so I'm sure doctors, medicine, rehab are all better these days.

I broke mine pretty bad my junior year of high school, took me 4 and a half weeks to get back on the field. I went to NovaCare center for my surgery and rehab. The good thing about this injury is that after surgery it usually come back stronger and pain wont linger like a shoulder would.
