People can hate on Clausen all they want. He always seemed to really love ND and his time here. It wasn't what we thought it'd be, but the more I retrospectively consider how systematically flawed Charlie's teams were, the more I'd say that wasn't his fault.

I don't hate on Clausen. I loved his attitude in college and he was a gamer.

If only we could have had even had an average defense with Clausen...oh the possibilities...

Good for him. That's a bad situation.

I wouldn't mind if the Bears picked him up.

I say it's a blessing. He was never going to pass Cam anyways, and Cam's younger.

I think he should go to the Vikings. He's better than Ponder.

Panthers gave him more than a few chances. He just couldn't take advantage of the chances he had. Wish him the best.

They gave him a "few" chances?

They drafted him onto a terrible team with terrible coaching.

Changed his head coach.

Changed his Ocoordinator

Drafted Newton

I'm way over the top with love for Clausen, but I think he can be a really good starter on an NFL team. Again, much better passer than Ponder. I was lucky enough to see Clausen play twice in person, and he just slings it. He really sees the whole field IMO.

How was his 2013 preseason? I wasn't paying much attention. Must not have been that good.

It wasn't terrible but it didn't do anything to help his cause.

The real issue here is that his contract has some kind of 4th year escalator which makes him more expensive this year than last.

Just want to thank the Panthers Organization and the city of Charlotte for drafting me and making this home for me the last 3 years! Jimmy Clausen (@JimmyClausen)

I respect what he did for us his junior year. I know there are some ND fans who don't like him

Anyone who had a problem with Jimmy, has a personal problem IMO.

He never did anything wrong that I've ever heard of. He was cocky? Who cares. He followed the rules and he loved ND.

If you didn't like him as a person, that's fine. But to say he wasn't 'ND material' is crazy IMO. He never acted out of line with the camera in front of him, and represented ND just fine.

+1 Jimmy.

Really wished he had come back for his senior year. He would have killed it in Kelly's offense. He had the ability to extend the play and make every throw. Most importantly that would have prevented us a few headaches lol...

I've met him and much of his family personally. I didn't like either. Takes nothing away from being a great QB at ND.

I really didnt like the way he acted especially during that press conference. I really wouldn't say he "loved ND". I think Charlie Weis had a lot if not all the reason he came to ND

I didn't see the press conference, but wasn't he still a high schooler? All he said is he was going to win, win, win, right?

I think he's pro-ND. He tweets pro-ND stuff a lot, and obviously he doesn't have to.

The guy has nothing but love for Notre Dame.

Silly to hate on him because he didn't say that he "loved ND" in his high school press conference.

This is fact. He loves and is very proud ND. While many around him love Tennessee, obviously.

I understand and I will keep my feelings to myself. He flashed all his rings and said he was goin to win heismans and national championships. He took a ton of beatings and went through some tough **** when he was here. Never lived up to the hype but it wasn't his fault. Regardless his junior year was incredible and it was not his fault for those three years. His USC performance was awesome to watch.

Personally, I just don't have a problem with that.

And that's fine bro. What makes this place great and not everyone will agree on everything.

Yeah, no problem.

I'm actually surprised you had a problem with that. I thought you liked cocky, lol.

This isn't necessarily true, guess it depends on your perspective...the team was far from great. Jimmy was pretty damn good though. His defense and coach sucked. He had a couple damn good receivers too.
