I think I saw that this is the first time in program history they have won 10 conference games in a season 4 years in a row? For as much as he has struggled in the tourney, what Brey has done in the Big East is pretty remarkable.

By that, I mean having a team one out of every 3/4 years making it sweet 16 / Elite 8. I ask because I oftern think his coaching style and framework works really well during big east regular season play, but has diminishing effects there after.

And just think, if they didn't blow the games against Connecticut and St. John's they'd be in the driver's seat for Brey's first Big East title. That is disappointing. Regardless, let's hope they continue this great defense and peak at the right time. I would love love love love a Sweet Sixteen berth. That, and for Ohio State to lose in the first round.

This Providence loss is still killing me. We would be ranked right around #15 had we won that one.

Going 3-0 would be massive to end the season. It assures us as the 3 seed at the worst in the Big East tourney, and would probably assure us of a 4/5 seed. I'm guessing were a 6 as of right now.

Yep. He's got a new bracket coming out tomorrow, but we'll probably still be sitting as a 6. I'd just like to see us get to a 4 or 5 seed for once and get an easier first round game.

Haven't they lost as a three seed in the first round? Seeding hasn't been their problem, but more the match ups with more athletic teams.

They were a 2 seed in 2011 when they were upset by FSU in the 2nd round.

We seem to get a brutal matchup every time. We lost as a #2 seed in the 2nd round to an average FSU team 2 years ago. We lost to ODU the year before that first round and they were an 11 seed. Obviously last year we lost to #11 Xavier.

I just want us to make the Sweet 16 for once. Been way too long.

Throw the seeds and the rankings out of the window. It's all about match ups. Florida State was a horrible match up for Notre Dame and it showed. Xavier was a fine team--always is--and the game was down to the wire, no?

I think this and Buster's post hit the nail on the head. Really athletic pressure man to man teams seem to give Notre Dame problems. Especially since we typically we very 3pt shooting orientated; against those types of teams we don't get air space we need to get good looks.

Also the pressure teams that contest passes slow down the ball movement which is a strength of Brey's offense.

No I don't think so, but all Adidas teams will be wearing the short sleeve jerseys in the tournament.

These uniforms are repulsive. I am not against all uniform changes, I for one did not mind the football unis for the Miami game last year, but these unis miss the mark in every way possible.
