I'd say it's unlikely but we need to get him up on junior day so he can connect with some of our guys. Build some relationships recruiting is all about relationships.

The thing that is eye opening to me is how complimentary Hood was of Michigan's post football life pitch. He said that is what is really important to him, Michigan knew that, and really sold him on that. Notre Dame is usually the one to really make an impression with that and for him to point out that Michigan stood out in this regard is strange to hear. To me it seemed ND didn't really push that angle very strongly with him for whatever reason. Nothing that can't be straightened out in future talks, but still interesting.

Don't get it twisted. I'm not worried that things won't or can't turn around, but Hood is a 5 star who we had in the palms of our hands and have let slip away.

One of the other recruits who had us at the top of their list but then began favoring Michigan is Mason Cole.

I wouldn't be the least bit worried if it wasn't Elijah Hood, a tremendous talent.

I really hope people aren't doubting the recruiting skill/effort of BK and Co. Trust the staff.

What if Elijah commits to ND in the coming weeks? All this hand wringing for nothing.

Anyone who wants to tell me it doesn't bug them that Elijah just visited us, then visits UM and names them his new #1, is either a UM fan or a liar.

Seriously, I'm not someone who worries about recruits, but this bugs me. I was actually thinking this might happen. He never seemed blown away by his visit.

And if he commits here? Then he commits here and I'll be happy.

But he just visited us and we were what he expected. He just visited Michigan and had an "eye-opening" experience. Tell me which sounds better.

Even if we go back to #1, we are in a much bigger dog fight than we were a few days ago.

I don't sweat recruiting, but it will be a disappointment if we don't land Hood.

Yeah I think many of us expected to have his commitment by sometime next week. May have lost two big targets to Michigan this week in Cole and Hood.

He had UM tied for 5th at one point, so that tells you how much they moved.

If we lose this kid it will suck a huge one, However, we wont have to play him.

I hear you Beau, I do but we haven't even made it out if February and I don't think the word 'upset' should be in the vernacular right now.

The loss of a 5 star DL would elicit a reaction like above. Not a 5 star RB. We just signed a 5 star in Bryant and our rb corps is loaded with or without Hood in 2014 to 2016. Just think any hand wringing should be saved for an important position like DL or LB.

He was all set to pick ND and now UM is making him second guess his decision. That is a key factor in all of this. If he announces soon I will take ND 10/10 times.

I don't know about 10/10 but I agree. A one day visit with another school, followed by another visit to another school?! Let's give it some time. He's pretty level headed.

Too early to be worrying about this recruiting class. We ended up with Max Redfield and Eddie Vanderdoes last year. Kelly and Co. have proven they can recruit. Hood is a great player but I refuse to worry about recruits before I know the name of more than 25 recruits.

I'm not sure what to make of all this, but I think we just need to stay calm and trust BK and his staff. They know what they're doing!

all along, a quick committ from this kid seemed "too easy" to me...nothing wrong with him checking out ALL his options..."this is the business we've chosen"...he willl probabaly rave about pOSU too...in the end, the staff has options as well.
we are going to be FINE either way here.

I'm still skeptical about his long term interest in Michigan.

I think that he probably received a little red carpet treatment in Ann Arbor and was hanging out with players and commits and was asked about the visit by UofM reporters.
Emotions were high, he mentioned something about them making a huge impression and stumbled into saying something about them possibly as his new number 1, but caught himself and said he needs to let it sink in.
He will gush about the OSU visit and say nice things about the program, probably say something along the lines of, "they are right up there."
After returning home, he will continue to rank ND ahead of Michigan and OSU.

Anyone familiar with DMS or any U.S. Military messaging system finds faux formatting like this akin to a kindergartner's finger painting.

Not surprising since you need an ASVAB of 32 to gain entry into most of the services. The requirement for employ at Walmart is slightly lower.

I don't know why anyone is freaking out about a running back taking visits this early in the process.

In an interview said one of the schools he visited this weekend would be on top of his new top 5. my guess would be Michigan.
