A little early to making predictions IMO

Definitely this. Remember when Ohio State were favourites for Jaylon because his brother went there. Exact same with Heuerman. I think this early in the process in particular a lot of speculation is done as to who recruits are favouring.

The one difference being that McDermott is from Florida. Jaylon and mike aren't from Ohio

Should be down to us and Miami. Just a guy feeling but I like our chances.
Anyone know if he's planning to be at our junior day?

It hasn't been said either way whether he'll be at ND's Junior Day. He was at Miami's yesterday and seemed to enjoy himself. They went to the basketball game where Miami beat Carolina by 30 so I'm sure there was a lot of excitement on and around campus.

Curse you Jim Larranaga! (They just beat #1 Duke by about thirty, too!)

Look what it has come to! His son Jay, who went to my old high school and was a great hoopster, and a few other guys were coaches and great friends of my two oldest sons. This is the number one reason I think things are changing for Miami. You just don't get guys this good if you are scum central.

I was a Junior Falcon a few years when Jim and Jay were at BG.

The Johnnies have a heck of team this year, have seen them play twice.

Jay actually ended up representing Ireland in Basketball..dude was a baller! They had a good team there few years ago with Pat Burke (Phoenix Suns) starting also. Then the funding dried up and there is no more national team here now.

I bet Ireland's ball team looked something like the Timbrwolves...

Per II, According to Matt Stephens, who covers Colorado State for The Coloradoan, Notre Dame has hired former Colorado State offensive lineman Tyler McDermott as the Irish football program's new graduate assistant. McDermott is the older brother of K.C.

BK making a power move in this recruitment, while adding to the coaching ranks at OL.

I kinda like it because he is a guy who played the game at a high level, but I don't want to go any further down this road with hiring relatives of recruits. Stay out of this shady part of the recruiting world and let our games and campus sell itself.

I feel like this is the kinda move we would crucify Alabama or USC for though.

It's one thing if he created a position or cast someone out but its a grad assistant position and a suave move by BK.

He was an intern for the CSU football team last year, and remember that Alford's alma mater is CSU as well. Lots of connections, and we had the opening. A 'multiple birds with one throw' hire IMO.

Big reason:

Ed Heinshel is a big part of the reason, too. Tell me he isn't a phenomenal coach!

Jay is a great guy. That SJ team with Jay, Shane Comvines, Jake Holms (Katie's little big bro), Neshaun Coleman, and Greg Gugger was awesome!

Damn. It's like we are always thinking the same thing.

Loving is very talented but he doesn't seem to play very hard. Austin Gardner really makes that team go IMO. Big game tonight vs Central Catholic and top 2014 QB Deshone Kizer. I'm going to attempt to go if the weather cooperates.

Kelly must really want this kid lol. He can be coached by his brother or play with his brother for a year. Will be interesting to see. Miami thinks he is all there's. I am sure he watched us truck stick them last year.

I am sure this is a happy coincidence, meaning his brother must be what BK was looking for in the first place. It's not like him to carry dead weight.
