If not tomorrow, NSD? Or do you think he goes to UCLA?

Here's how I see it... it looks like we're visiting in force tomorrow. Originally, his dad was a pretty big fan of what ND was selling. If we hit a home run... which assumes the staff is going all out for him which they may or may not be because I have no idea what their board looks like... then I think there's a reasonable chance we pull off the long shot.

However, he was pretty locked in to UCLA coming into the visit and there are so many moving pieces so late in the process that I think there's a stronger chance that he just ends up sticking where he is.

I had trouble sleeping last night, after the great visits by the prospects this past weekend, trying to figure out how they are all going to fit into IrishMob 13. I can't even imagine how the coaches feel. I just don't see how all the pieces are going to work with the interest we are receiving from all these different players.

We don't have enough available spots!!

I'm stressed!!

I'm happy with this class as constructed AS LONG AS USC doesn't close with a flourish and add a bunch of 5:s: style guys. If that happens I'll be a little angry faced that we didn't wrangle in any big fish.

In light of your worry of 5:s: guys going to SC, think about this statistic and Kiffin's poor player development.

Of the 27 Alabama players drafted since 2007, 16 were ranked 3-stars or lower as recruits by either Rivals or Scout.

Wow I never saw this. That's nuts. What a clown. That is not good for future prospects.

Lol. I would bet those weren't his exact words but even if they were, good for Pelini. I know we like to pretend our coaches don't do the same thing, but I have a feeling BK had some choice words for certain decommits.

Can someone point me to this. I cannot find it, of course, I am having problems finding my shoes, socks, and keys, these days.

This was posted in the Smythe thread but I think it belongs here:

Smythe told Sapp that he felt all three of the other visitors last weekend -- Fitts, Vanderdoes and Hollins -- seemed really excited about the visit, and he could see at least 2 of the 3 ending up at ND.

Didn't say which two or provide any further clarification.

Any guesses on what he meant?

I would never have thought this Sunday night, but it's beginning to look like Fitts and Vanderdoes have higher interest than Hollins. But Hollins gave a glowing review of the visit, so maybe while he was at ND he seemed like a guy who might end up at ND. I don't know ...

Now rumors that the Hollins' cancelled the meeting with ND last night but nobody really knows.

maybe hollins wanted to commit to us early this week....and our coaches told hollins "look we cant accept commitment from you...just yet" (as they felt they have really good shot with EV or Prevot or Fitts)...and so Hollins and family said well then forget it were all in on ucla dont bother visiting. in the hollins thread our TP lays out a framework where this might be possible.

No, I think TP was saying there might have been a Tuitt situation, where Hollins flipped to us and then immediately flipped back to UCLA (sort of a reverse Tuitt, who flipped to Ga. Tech and then immediately flipped back to us).

I very much doubt that we wouldn't accept a commitment from Hollins. But I can't rule it out ... eagerly awaiting new info on this.

The way things are shaking out, the only possibilities left may be Vanderdoes and Fitts, which incidently are the two players I want most.

I'm starting to think that when Smythe says that he thinks two out of the three visitors other than him could end up at ND, he was including Hollins as one of the two. The evidence seems to indicate that Hollins was VERY high on ND when he left campus, but cooled on ND and warmed back up to UCLA when he got home.

Consider: Hollins gave a glowing review of his ND visit to 247, and then shortly after II began to report that he would commit to ND.

Shortly after that, Hollins Sr. started shooting down rumors of a flip, saying Deon was 100% committed to UCLA, and, according to rumor, the family refused to see ND's staff for an in-home.

This could be a guy who got caught up in the visit but realized he still wanted to go to UCLA once the shine of the visit wore off.

So, if it's true that Hollins has cooled on us, even in light of that news I'd say that that doesn't prove that he was Smythe's third guy ... it remains at least possible that only one of Fitts and Vanderdoes seemed likely to pick ND to Smythe.

But this is HYPOTHETICAL ... as far as I know it remains UNCONFIRMED that the Hollins family canceled ND's in-home because they are no longer considering ND.

He didn't mention anyone by name- just that he could see at least 2 signing and at the very least ND was in it will all 3.

I said that in my post, didn't I? Or is your point that you don't think Smythe had any particular 2 in mind? I hope not; his comment would be worthless then. There's no basis for guessing that we'll get 2 out of 3 interested prospects unless you are making an individualized determination of their chances of picking ND. People make throwaway comments liike that all the time though ... it's definitely possible that that's all he meant.

I'm not questioning what he's doing right now, but seeing the tweet made me wonder if he personally runs it. I mean, you don't actually think Barack Obama runs his twitter, do you?

i'm sorry my humor wasn't apparent....i just was referring to him "grinding" on the recruiting trail...as this is the catch phrase kids use now...well actually i guess for a few years now....that doesn't sound like something he would personally use...slang but i guess u got to appeal to the kids
