This is why when the story broke and everyone who thought Manti was in on it from the beginning kept saying that the truth will come out eventually, it just made me laugh. People only want the truth they are looking for. If they don't get it then its all a big conspiracy.

Exactly. When Ronaiah confessed to it, they assume Te'o paid him to take the fall. To cover up their relationship. I really hate people sometimes.

What a vile disgusting piece of shiit!

The expectation is that Manti is a virgin. What a cunning way to wedge yourself in as the most morally ambiguous media member to go on record in this affair.

People are such hypocrites. You should have said it right away Manti on dec 6th. Yea right. There is less than 0.0001% of the people that would have done things differently. It was a bad situation, I feel bad for him.

$25,000 offer to any women that can prove she had sex with Manti...

https://twitter.com/OpieRadio/status/294876293105848320

The outcome:

We will get some psycho b!tch from hell claiming she had sex with Manti for the money and notoriety...which will have the "media" claiming it as some sort of proof he's in on the hoax ....and he's a fraud for not living up to the expectations of his faith regarding pre-marital sex.

...or

if no ones comes forward the "media" will be claiming he's gay and in on the hoax, or at the very least mocked for being a virgin

kid can't catch a break...

Would love to go back in time and give this person tickets to a certain Batman premiere...

Not too much good can come out of this. I had wished we were done with it after Katie. Tulasosopo needs to bring the gal that was the womans voice. Scratch that...just want this to go away.

Purdue facial expert: Manti Te'o told Katie the truth - wsbt.com

" Kowal says Te'o's face consistently displayed anger, sadness and disgust when discussing how hoaxers "catfished" him..."

"Kowal also found that Te'o displayed strong emotions of sadness and anger at a press conference in December where Te'o still talked as if his girlfriend were real despite having recently learned she was not.

"He may have been in denial about the hoax," Kowal says."

"Journalists across the nation used Kowal's findings to decipher how well the candidates were emotionally connecting with voters."

I will never forget the look of compassion in Manti's eyes at the spring game two years ago. When my friend, Patrick, Manti's biggest fan, so slaughtered his name, and got stuck tongue tied. It started, "Man-e-o, Man-e-o!" Then his voice cracked. And the pitch grew shrill. He couldn't stop himself. It seems like it lasted forever, but it probably only took a few seconds. Manti first looked at him shrewdly, and evaluated him. I started laughing, and told Manti that Pat was his biggest fan ever. To see the look in Manti's eye. The smile on his face; you knew that Manti totally understood. No razzing, or shrinking back, Manti took Patrick's hand in both of his, and said, "Manti Te'o, glad to meet you! How you doin' today, man?" I mean we talked to Manti, Zack Martin, Kappy, Ethan Johnson, and a few others for five or ten minutes, before they unlocked the gate and let the team into the stadium.

Of course the most priceless part is when all of us were walking a few minutes later and out of nowhere, in a small voice Patrick stated, "Boy, was that a Seinfeld moment!"

Keith Arnold just published an article about the latest developments in this saga. It includes some information that was new to me, so it's probably worth sharing:

That the university ended up hiring one of the leading firms in digital forensics and cybercrimes should end any of the outrage that emanated from certain media outlets, who characterized the investigation as something akin to keystone cops, with criticism coming rather loudly from those who questioned the tactics used by the independent investigators.

Yet it took just two days for the investigators to come to the conclusion that Te’o was indeed the victim of the hoax, and that it presented no threat to the school. Combine that with the fact that Te’o had hired Creative Artists Agency to represent him, and Jenkins told the board the school “concluded that this matter was personal to Manti.”

Real football?? Bama is good, no denying that... but lets be real. What a bunch of idiots. ND would smash any SEC team on a regular day to be honest... other than Bama of course. Even then, if ND plays Bama again I think it would be a close game.

I love your optimism Cogs but don't let bias over take your brain. If we were in the SEC I could count at least 4 losses. Bama, Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia. I don't think LSU would beat us. We need more stamina in our secondary and we got a wake up call in Miami. That Pitt game was disgusting and shouldn't have been that close for us. Most people know that southern football is at a much faster tempo but that doesn't mean that we can't climb back to the hilltop of greatness. We just have to stay honest with ourselves.

What worries me is that every time I think this hoax thing is about to die, something else pops up again on T'eo and his involvement. I'm worried how this will affect us with recruiting in the future.

If you're a top SEC team, you only play 1 maybe 2 of those top teams a year, so no, not 4 losses.
