Hey having trouble tracking this down with a quick Google search but what are the names of the three people supposedly involved in the hoax?

I know there is Tuiasosopo but what was the girl's name again?

I don't remember it coming out. Do you mean the girl whose picture was used?

Yeah I don't know if that information is public yet.

The Deadspin article mentioned a Donna Tei who portrayed Lennay's sister. I guess that must be the girl but I don't think it's been confirmed.

Celeste Mariner-Tuioti (friend of Ronaiah), JR Vaosa (friend of Celeste) and Diane O'Meara (whose picks were used on Kekua's profile) were Deadspin's three "sources". Aside from Tuiasosopo, I can't recall any other potential hoaxsters.

I though the first two listed here were close with the victim of the previous hoax?

That was my understanding too. I know Celeste and JR knew Ronaiah but I think they were more antagonists than friends because Ronaiah duped their cousin back in 2008.

And Te'o did say in his interview that it was 3 people and he knows who they are, right?

That may be true. I certainly haven't had time to read everything yet.

Guys/Gals I have been seeing a lot of smack about Notre Dame in regards to the Teo sad/sorry tale. We all agree here that he was used so lets just pass on that for now. What I see/hear alot is always coming back to joining a conference and why Notre Dame does not. It seems to me that this one subject matter is the pivot point of all hatred and ill will towards Notre Dame. Quite honestly I understand because in reality there is no other program that can stand alone as Notre Dame does. As good as Alabama is right now ( and they are great ) not even they could do what Notre Dame does. That my friends is what bothers these folks from other schools. I go back to what many of you have heard me say before-WHEN NOTRE DAME WINS THEY ARE BIGGER THAN ANY CONFERENCE-and that my fellow Irish friends is why Notre Dame is feared and hated. Hate comes from fear. Teo is now just being used to express that hate and fear.

Local radio in Detroit is saying phone records aren't enough - need to know what was going on on the phone, what was said, etc. Also said the phone records were on a spreadsheet and easily doctored.

sounds like a certain request for 'long form' documents.

give me a ****ing break with all of this.

Can we as a society stop with 'If He Would Just Show us X This Would All Be Over!!'

No, I believe he said he knows it was three people, one of which was Touiasasopo. Other than that he said it was a guy and a girl but didn't know who.

It is infuriating. I'm gonna vent to you guys about this.

I had the most frustrating lunch today with some co-workers. They insist that Manti was in on it. Just can't believe that someone would fall for this. If you can't see now that Manti had nothing to do with it, you aren't paying attention.

It will never be enough. There will never be enough evidence to suggest that A> Manti wasn't in on it and that B> ND wasn't the hype machine behind that.

I would tend to agree with you. I think the only thing that could make a difference is if there are indeed other people that got hoaxed by "Lennay" and that they come forward. That would be the most compelling, but I'm sure that wouldn't be enough for the true haters.

There are already SIX people who have said they were hoaxed by Lennay... doesn't matter at all. It's a shame. People who want to believe the worst will keep on believing it.

Is this six annonymous people or are some of them willing to talk publicly?

Would you want to talk publicly about the time you got catfished?

No, especially when you see how Manti is getting treated. But to my point, the only way that others will truly believe that Manti isn't in on it is if some of these people would be willing to speak out.

Not really sure, I can try to track down a link to the article if you want.

You don't have to for me. I'm sure if any of these people were talking publicly, it would've garnered more attention from the media.

Too late haha.... reported by freaking ABC, too... not some little outfit.

Manti Te'o Was One of Several Duped in Hoax - ABC News

Video and article are both good. If this was the initial reporting of the story, 90% of people would believe Manti wasn't "in on it" instead of just 50%.

This clearly went MUCH deeper than Manti...

Everything that could be seen as good for Manti has been barely mentioned or not mentioned at all... the media is clearly happy to have the story as is... yeah I know, conspiracy and all...

Not everyone else hoaxed didn't meet the person in question for 3 years. It is a little hard to believe. Also this should have been announced IMMEDIATELY. The fact it wasn't was terrible judgement on all involved. Also again you didn't meet someone for 3 years and they stand you up in a meeting attempt. Suspect, weird, whatever...

This whole story is really boring now. I'd rather watch badminton or something. The fat lady has sung, the horse is dead, the ship has sailed, the water has past under the bridge..............yawn.

Way, way back at the start of this whole situation (feels like forever even tho its like a week), the Arizona Cardinals FB came out and said not only was the lady real, that he had met her, went on a mission trip (i believe it was something like that), and she was around other NFL players on this trip. I believe Polomolu (sp) was a name that was mentioned on the trip too. The FB said that whoever this woman was used the name the entire trip and that he partied with her.
