From now on, just call me Tyler.

You do not talk about Fight Club.

Props to you for taking a leap of faith with the online relationship. Too bad Manti didn't experience the same success. You're right in that it is quite common nowadays, but he's still gonna catch heck from it.

Okay I get Manti' s side but then who is the person this NFL fullback claims to know in real life?

This is the one that put me over the top with this whole story...**conspiracy warning**...could it be that there is a group of people that do this sort of thing to only athletes? I know it may be far fetched but I've seen and heard of worse.

People are too quick to judge. Then they complain about it and do it again.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

They say nobody did fact checking, then they say shame, then they do it again basing it on "80%".

As has been stated last night, Occam's Razor.

Not everything is this huge conspiracy or giant web of deceit. Some people truly are victims. Did he embellish? Probably but the story became too big for a 22 year old to handle.

The director of the CIA was just nabbed weeks ago in some love triangle. This too will pass.

I think what is sad, is that there is a large number of people out there who have already developed a strong opinion of the situation due to the early "facts" reported by the media. They will, no doubt, be unwilling to listen to the prospects of this young man being duped and being innocent in the hoax. These people will be the majority I am afraid, and mostly because they hate Notre Dame. I feel for Manti and really hope he can shed some light on his side of the story today.

Just remember to not feed the trolls we will be dealing with today, both on the internet and in real life. They will just want a rise out of us. While this case is beyond weird and there are some holes that need to be filled in, the evidence points to Manti being a victim and being embarrassed to admit this relationship was exclusively on the phone and the internet.

Chris Mortenson on Mike & Mick does not see this story impacting Te'o's draft position.

M&M mentioned that kuyper listed Manti at #8 when he issued his ranking yesterday before the story broke. From what he has heard since he sees no change in that ranking.

Jack Ford CBS Sports Legal Analyst sees no legal action by anybody based on what's surfaced to date.

I get that...But come on. As long as it doesn't cause harm or monetary loss. It's ultimately ON THE PERSON to not get caught up without doing their homework.

Again, this is overreaction to an event. I mean, should they now prosecute guys that tell women at bars lies about how much money they make?

Are you being serious? That is not even in the same realm with what happened in this case.

These are criminal penalties, so no the victim does not need to suffer monetary loss.

Frankly, ND nation should push the narrative in another direction.

Namely, relatives of star USC players and fans and boosters of the program engage in an elaborate hoax to publically humiliate and emotionally destroy the star player of their greatest rival.

That is the biggest story in all this.

A thought just struck me -

I think that Manti NOT WINNING the Heisman is now awesome. Can you imagine how much worse the criticism would be for Manti and those victimized if he would have won and then this story came out? That could be one of the greatest blessings in disguise ever.

Teddy Greenstein, Chicago Trib, on M&M doing the Washington Two Step as to why the media didn't fact check.

We're so busy we don't have time to do everything. Gene Wojciechowski tried to but we don't like to pry..

He said that with a tone as smooth as Blago would have used.

Greenstein then offered that he voted for Te'o for Heisman. He noted that yesterday, he tweeted, "I want my vote back!"

Asked why he claimed that he ranked Te'o and JFB as a tie on the field. He claimed he used Te'o's off-field story as the tiebreaker.

good thing Lance Armstrong isn't a diehard ND fan.

Give it a couple of hours.

Doyel or the credit card thief will uncover an anonymous source that knows that Armstrong's third grade once had an autographed picture of Lou Holtz while he was at Arkansas, firmly establishing a link to ND.

It's clear Mel Kiper thinks Manti's guilty- as per his latest mock draft board, he has sentenced him to a career in Buffalo.

This will all blow over. He's a college kid who let a lie get out of control. When she died I remember them just saying a friend, next thing you know it's his girlfriend and then the love of his life. Was musberger calling the Mich St. game?? It's all his fault!!
