12/6 gets call and finds out hoax. 12/8 quote about cancer taking grandparents and girlfriend. 12/26 tells coaches. 1/16 sh*t hits the fan.

I am trying to do the benefit of the doubt. Every time I lean one way I read something that tilts it the other way. Gotta say, things are stacked against him.

Honestly, that Hamilton quote doesn't mean all that much. I'm sure he still was unsure how to proceed with the incident so was just going along with the status quo. Had he not said his 'gf' in that quote, questions would be asked and he would have to answer when he wasn't prepared to about why she was omitted from that quote.

I'm not a liar unless it involves the size of the fish I caught or the points on the buck I shot, but I would do the same thing to ensure my ducks were all in a row. It's the smart ting to do.

Also, did Jackie Boy ever say what Manti was told on that 12/6 phone call?

I did not intend to be taunting. I don't know if this is a hoax, or a scam, or a conspiracy, but either way, if it had happened to a Heisman trophy winner it would be a 10X bigger story.

Does this make me a bad person that even though I hope Manti turns out ok after all this that my main concern is that the university didnt have anythnig to do with this or anything? Thats my biggest fear is that if something that bad were to happen it could just be bad for everything.....what a crazy day.

Te'o thinks his girlfriend has died and then he gets a call from her during an already crazy time in his life (awards shows)...I can definitely see him still being dazed by it all. Still not putting it all together yet.

They are the ones I posted.

And if anyone can find an elegant way to post those tweets, a rep will be coming their way. They really are a gold mine. It's what appears to be at least 2-3 people who were behind the hoax joking about it and calling out Tuiasosopo.

So he gets a call right before the award show from a Lk and he's told that she's not dead, said he was frustrated and agitated by it. Denial. Shapes it as impossible. Someone's Cruel joke. Very good reason to be furious about that kind of phone call as someone's sick joke about his beloved recently deceased girlfriend.. The calls persist. He recognizes the number. He reflects back on the call that received before the award show. It all comes crashing down and the rest plays out and here we are.


And that's how to give someone the benefit of the doubt

Noob here and know I will be looked at suspiciously under circumstances...

Really dont know what to believe...honestly. If Manti was in on the "scam" he deserves to be raked over coals. If he was gullible and then embellished the relationship or the media reports just spiraled out of control he is no doubt experiencing tremendous personal turmoil.

But ND will be fine. I see no way any university takes part in something like this even if Manti was involved. Yes the school will be the butt of jokes from some but those will pass.

Each of our universities has embarrasing skeletons in our closet. Bama was bigger than the Mike Dubose/Mike Price debacle and ND is bigger than this cluster.

PS. I root for ND to lose every game I watch them play...please don't ever schedule Auburn...but CFB is more fun when ND is...well, when they are ND. I think it is good that Bama and ND are back at the top and I even want Penn State to get back...I grew up in a time when that was the way CFB was supposed to be.

Double PS: I do get goose bumps when all the team turn in their jersey so Rudy can suit up! If that helps....

I recall BK saying how Te'o was 'so tired during the awards and just wanted to sleep'. Perhaps trying to keep him from the media as much as possible.

All this stuff is very overwhelming for me as a fan I can't imagine how Teo feels. Since I'm not sure what to think yet, I'll trust in manti and the university and hope for the best.
