This season is really awesome. Seeing the battle between the Yanks,O's,Ray is bad ***. My braves probably aren't going to catch the Nats. I hate our manager and almost wish we didn't make the place offs so he would get the boot. The tigers and White sox are going to be fun to watch as well. The Angels spent all that money and could miss the postseason.

Finally getting to the point of the season where the games are interesting. My Angels need to keep winning and we need some help from the Red Sox (over the Os) and Rangers (unless the Rangers completely collapse and that would be good, too.) Although, seeing 3 teams from the West would be pretty cool!

Yep I think we'll both do well. The team that worries me the most is the Angels (what a line up they've assembled) followed by the zillion dollar Dodgers.

I bet my friend $50 that the Cubs would win the World Series within the next 5 years because we have so much young talent (Castro, Barney, Rizzo, Valbuena). I like to see our new GM building the team through the farm system and not signing 38 y/o, washed up guys to 8 year deals

This isn't the first time that the Cubs have had young talent. As I have stated before, they have a culture problem, not a talent problem. Maybe Epstein is the guy to change that, but it is an extremely difficult job that he has.

I am as big a Cubs fan as the next guy but I agree with this. I don't think Epstein truly knew what he was getting into. I do think he is the right man. The situation kind of reminds me of the culture after the Charlie Weis era. You must instil a winning attitude before you can start winning and winning consistently. Before this year, I have had extensive arguments about how ND and the Cubs were in similar situations over the last several years.
