If ND does ND up getting him its going to take him a year or two before he can contribute at NT. Got to get more weight on him.

263 is even small for DE in a 3-4 particular NDs 3-4 that seems to want 290-305 lbs at that position. For NT they probably want him to at least 310. So he's got 50 lbs to go.

Yes he has the frame to possibly support that but it take probably 2 off seasons.

Not concerned, weight was taken in the summer before his junior year in high school. He may still be 16 at that point.

Only regional offers at this point. ND is his best offer by far.

His composite score is 0.8667, but 247 and Scout are the only services reporting.

I knew all that, I just like to have it on the 1st post for me to find it easy cause sometimes it hard for me to keep all the rankings and what not locked in the ol' memory bank. Sorta a nit pick thing for my personal benefit I suppose, but I think it would help others as well.

I plan to update all my 2014 threads once the 2013 class is solidified and signed.

Can you hold on for 2 more months? :)

Low center of gravity is key at NT he can be taught that burst needed to get into the backfield. Really like this kid as a nt of the future.

If he can't get there, we may end up stuck with another Sheldon Day. Wait...

He may not be as highly rated as Nix, but I would take this kid in a heart-beat.

Was labeled a Top Performer at Junior Rank's Proving Ground combine, which showcasing top underclassmen in the country:

5. Enoch Smith, DT, Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel
Smith is athletic, jacked up defensive tackle that was the most athletic defensive interior player in attendance at the Proving Ground Combine. Smith is a defensive tackle with muscles everywhere with burst and power out of his stance and the quickness to counter anything offensive linemen through at him. Already Smith holds offers from Notre Dame, a host of Big Ten schools and more.

Sometimes I get check out Chicago Catholic league high school games in person if there is a really big matchup. This past year I saw him play against Loyola Academy (no slouch, regular state champ contender).

This kid is really something. Very very quick off the ball. Loyola usually doubled him but he still made plays.

Are we at the top of his list? Guess I should have looked all the way back to page one for one of my own posts and one from GITF. Carry on, nothing to see here.

"Hayes, Smith, Clark, McDowell" .... Dear Lord God make it rain.

I'm old. I want to be able to watch the games of my last decade and mumble to myself "whether the odds be great or be small, our defensive line will run over all".... yes, obliteration of opponents can be quite relaxing.

I'm with you OMM. To me, in football, there is nothing more fun to watch than a dominating defensive line (a dominant offensive line is an extremely close second).
