OMM got me thinking about it, so I wanted to put it down in writing to see what we could be looking at in 2014 if Tuitt doesn't stay for a 4th year. I'm sure Whiskey's chart would be much better and could address my mistakes, but I'm bored:
Day (JR), Springmann (RS JR), Jones (RS SO), Hounshell (RS JR), Okwara (JR), Rochell (SO), Matuska (SO) are the guys that should be around for sure, barring medical/transfer (or position changes, such as Matuska playing TE). That's 7 guys all with at least one year left on the DL.
Then, you can factor in a surprise position change (Randolph puts his hand in the dirt full time) that could give you 8 guys. And of course, Jay Hayes is committed, giving you 9+ after other commitments that would be freshman in 2014. So, best-case scenario (no medical schollies/transfers), there could be 9 or more guys with at least one year left in 2014. Losing out on Vanderdoes would hurt, but I don't think the situation would be as dire as anything Willingham or Weis left behind.
Or my numbers/class-years are way off and this post was pointless haha.
EDIT: I included Okwara on the DL, assuming he would move down if this were the case in terms of numbers. I know many people think he is destined for DE anyway, considering his size/frame and the young guys coming in behind him.
