No one even tried to block him on that kick, and he wasn't on the far edge. Don't see that every day.

Assuming they have Jaylon in at Dog, considering Spond has the spot what in the heck do we do with Ben Councell/Okwara? I am still a big fan on Ben and am a little surprised he has not made a bigger impact. Great problem to have however elite players get restless. Thoughts?

I think he should play DOG also but he said before that he is slated to play CAT

Thought with his cover skills Dog would be a better fit.

Same question for CAT that's alot of young talented guys in front of him.

Okwara to de and Big Ben provides depth.

With this depth we are going to see healthy competition at many positions...obviously this competition will make pay huge dividends. It wasn't long ago that we could name the starting defense long before the season started...that wasn't good.

Any chance him, Randolph or Anzalone slide inside? I've heard a lot of people say Jaylon could play in the middle, but I don't see it. I feel like Randolph and Anzalone could both play in the middle

U.S. Army All-American Bowl Report

Smith is a beast- There’s no question that Notre Dame commit Jaylon Smith is the top linebacker prospect in the country after watching him today. I feel that Reuben Foster certainly has the talent to contend for the top spot, but the bottom line is there are a lot of concerns about Foster in terms of his dedication to the sport and ability to stay healthy. That’s not to say Foster is not an elite prospect and both have traits you can’t coach, but you can’t argue with 6-foot-3, 4.4 speed in the 40, great lateral movement and playing the actual game with a high motor and at a high level. He was the best defensive prospect on the field during the game Saturday.

I watched the game for about 15 minutes and they were talking about Jaulon for 10 of them. They had no choice. He was at the center of every play.

BEAST.

I see Okwara and Smith on the edges with Randolph and Anzalone in the middle.

Anzalone is going into Notre Dame as an inside linebacker. But I think Jaylon stays outside. Doug might move inside

Can't stress enough how impressed I was with Jaylon. He had his nose in on SO MANY plays today. Reminded me of Shaq Thompson last year.

You heard it fellas 17-14 ND, will be won in the trenches!

How can you not be impressed with this kid? So well spoken. He will be a great poster boy for ND football and the university for the next 4 years! To me he is the best player in the nation!

I thought it was expected that Anzalone plays ILB. Basically there is CAT, DOG, and two ILBs. Anzalone is not a CAT, and Diaco will have better DOGs. He is going to be a stud at ILB, in my opinion.

How awesome is it that we have at least 3 LBs in this class that, while they do have positions they would be IDEAL at, could legitimately play 2 or 3 different LB positions at a high level? The versatility and athleticism is at a level that I'm not sure ND has ever seen at this position, at least not in my time.

Alex is a big kid. He is going to be a stud in this system, no questions asked. Just realized I'm not in Alex's thread. Oh well, it doesn't change my opinion and that Jaylon kid will be a stud as well. Position group = stacked.
