Bowl games matter sooooo much to SEC fans when they use their dominance in them to prove how they are soooo much better than all other conferences.

The #2 team in the conference gets completely embarrassed by a team that lost to 5-7 UCONN at home and got blown out by Syracuse? Bowl games don't matter at all. We don't care. They're completely irrelevant except for extra practices.

What an incredible display of cognitive dissonance. I'm used to this from Michigan fans (i.e. "we don't care about national championships just winning the Big Ten and OOC games don't matter... unless we beat 'Bama, then we'll say it's a program defining win... but if we lose it doesn't matter at all...") but the fact that these tools continue to pretend like the SEC being .500 in bowl season when they have been HUGE favorites in most games is ridiculous.

Your conference simply isn't very good this year. It's no better than the Big 12 or PAC12. You inflate records by playing tons upon tons of gimme games. It was obvious to all outsiders the moment Texas A&M... which never even competed at a high level in the Big 12... waltzed into the SEC and started dominating your "unbeatable" teams. It was obvious the moment Towson hung with LSU for a whole game or Louisiana Lafayette played Florida even or any myriad of other events during the season.

Alabama was the only elite team in the SEC this year and it's just too bad we have to play them instead of all of the other crappy teams we were "sure" to lose to.

No, I lost no money on this game. I heard the same BS from UF fans in the '92 Sugar Bowl, both before and after the game.

First the Gators, including Spurrier, whinned that their opponent didn't belong in the vaunted Sugar Bowl, the SEC's home bowl. Then when they got waxed, they whinned the game wasn't important since it was postseason.

Twenty years later UF fans still run their mouths before the game and mealy mouth after.

"The game wasn't important" ... "a BCS Bowl isn't a goal" ... "the extra practice is more important".

Since you didn't want to be their and neither your fans nor players showed up for the game, are you sending the game money back with a note, "We didn't want to be there and we showed it. It would be unethical to take money we didn't earn." Then send a note to SEC Headquarters telling them UF does not want their cut from Vandy and other SEC teams that actually showed up and played regardless of the outcome. They competed; they earned the money, so they should keep it.

The program is about SEC championships and National Championships. The most important part about going to a bowl game is not even the actual bowl game but the extra practices for the younger players.
