That's the spirit! I'm not big on bashing recruits but I will say this, once a kid picks a rival school I no longer will follow their recruitment. I was actually torn about Carlisle and the Armsteads situation because I really can't stand USC. I have however changed my tune cuz it is huge that we got Amir and he should do some really great things at ND. I mean I really can't stand our rivals. I guess that's why they are called rivals. Anyways onto the next!

I think they might make room. There is no reason he couldn't play inside along Anzalone or dog if Jaylon is truly playing cat. He has the athleticism to play anywhere and it would be interesting to see where he fits. If we landed Refield, Vanderdoes, and Hutchings I would weep for joy as the Trojans cry tears of mourning.

That said, I know we're only just now a seed in Vanderdoes and Hutchings' minds. Jaylon and the coaching staff will need to continue to tend the garden. It is beautiful how they are lining up so many possibilities to make sure the class is complete come signing day.

Agreed. In his junior tape, Hutchings is lined up variously at ILB, OLB and S. He could definitely play DOG for us, at least on on first downs and rushing downs. He could also be a Shembo-like CAT. But I would most like to see him play ILB for us though. He fits our ILB profile physically and he shows the ability to cover as well as fight off blocks and make tackles near the line of scrimmage. Great athlete with all the skills we want in our ILBs. Dynamite prospect.

But I don't see how we have room for him unless things fall through with one of Folston/Redfield/AQM or Vanderdoes turns us down.

I just can't see them taking more than 4 but who knows. If they took five than none of Slaughter, Carlo, or Fox could come back. I know Slaughter is unlikely but I feel they really want at least one if Fox/ Carlo for the leadership.
