Michael Smith is an actual journalist. Jalen Rose is a homer of an NBA analyst and Hugh Douglas..well, he played for the Eagles...nuff said.

I found a crushed 15 year old Newport, took the tobacco, carved an apple and took menthol hits till I got dizzy.
My parents gave me $500 as a Christmas/early birthday present (in June but still haha) to use towards a ticket!!! With ticket prices on stubhub dropping a little and my transportation/hotels in Miami already taken care of, IM GOIN TO THE GAME!!!! Best christmas ever.

June, what? 18th? Two sons 6th and 21st, me the 14th, and two good friends on the 18th!
Hahaha yeah the 18th! Gotta love June birthdays
Agree, and by the way the Alabama fans in my neck of the woods do not treat you like you act. I find them to be haters/culturally and geographically biased and just plain nasty at times. I live in West Ga and I know of what I speak. I might add pretty arrogant at this time with the success of the program the last 5 years. The football team gives me the feeling of class and dignity much like Notre Dame but the fans are loudmouth bullies. Maybe the ones that go to the games are different but that more than likely is not the case. Keep in mind this is the same attitude that played 'Take The $$$ And Run' when Auburn played them 2 years ago. Of course Newton may have but thats just showing no class. And they call Notre Dame arrogant every time they get a chance. Its Finebaums favorite line about Notre Dame until the last few weeks. Trust me they're keeping their mouths shut at this time because they think there is a 1% chance Notre Dame will win this game. If they win you'll see the bull$%#@. On the Finebaum show they giggled at some guy teabagging another guy after the LSU game last year. So dont tell me you'll be treated like you act. Plus it sounds pretty condescending to me. I live with this stuff 365 a year so lets just get real and call it what it is.I've been to quite a few Alabama games, and that's a very tall guarantee you've just written. Particularly during the tailgate.
Notre Dame is school that ends dynasties and winning streaks.
See: Bud Wilkinson Oklahoma, Army 1944, Miami's long regular season win streak in 88, John Wooden's UCLA (Men's basketball), UCONN (Ended one of the many UCONN streaks in women's basketball).
Dynasties are not cemmented against Notre Dame dynasties/records die against Notre Dame.
Moore memories: Alabama athletics director has had inside looks at Alabama and Notre Dame | al.com
Very good article about Bama AD Mal Moore and his memories of being an assistant coach at ND in the 80's.
Good article minus the 14 championships fallacy.
That sort of tainted it.
I wouldn't count '41 and think it's unsupportable. The others are legit. My view is that if a major poll of its era named you NC, then count it. There are some that are debateable as to whether another team was better that year or other major polls named someone else in a split championship, but in 13 seasons at least one of the major polls of that era named us and a reasonable case can be made we deserved it, so I'll count those 13.
The point of posting the article was to enjoy a connection between our two programs and point out the respect some of our current and former coaches, staff, and fans have or had for each other. It wasn't to stir up a debate.
These two programs are the epitome of college football. Others can make claims but their lore is no match. You've got Wallace and the Bear and we've got Rockne and Parsegian. We've both got lot's of Banners and Rings and this will be an epic game. I may joke around a lot about Bama but I certainly respect the team you have and your history(lived in Bammer for a few years). Can't wait until the seventh and I wish your boys a hard fought clean played game! May the best team win!
1. I don't want to get on a soapbox but ...
Television executives love it. Vegas loves it. Even those who hate the Irish and the Tide love it.
So why not do it again? Why not Alabama vs. Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship following the 2013 season, too?
“We’re building for the long haul here,” Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says.
“You’ve got to stay focused on the process to try to continue to make the next game the most important game, the next season the most important season,” Alabama coach Nick Saban says.
Translation: These guys aren’t just looking at the here and now. Why would they, considering the events of the post-regular season?
Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and All-American linebacker C.J. Mosley both say they’ll return in 2013 for their senior seasons. Notre Dame nose guard Louis Nix and left tackle Zack Martin—two critical pieces of the Irish reclamation—say they will return for their senior seasons.
All told, Alabama could have as many as 15 starters returning in 2013; Notre Dame as many as 16. And that’s just the beginning.
Notre Dame currently has the No. 2-ranked recruiting class according to Rivals.com, with impact players at the skill positions (5-star RB Greg Bryant), linebacker (5-star Jaylon Smith) and the best offensive line class in the nation. Alabama is ranked where it’s seemingly always ranked: No. 1 with a barrel full of high school stars.
Alabama avoids playing Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in the SEC East Division; Notre Dame gets Oklahoma and USC at home. It all sets up for another titanic clash of Evil vs. Evil in the last championship game of the BCS era.
Why not do it again?
