I think that it is for 17 weeks not 52. Somewhere around 90000. I think that is the case.
oh shucks, only $90,000.

Cierre Wood, who technically has a fifth-year option to return to Notre Dame. RT @stadium20status 1 down 1 to go. Then its bye bye school![]()
This reminds me a lot of Carlton Scott for basketball leaving early. He was good but he wasn't that good. Same goes for Cierre
Remember though that he isn't really leaving early. He just isn't coming back for a 5th year. That's is a real difference so please don't think I'm trying to argue semantics. He is graduating, he has a chance to go to the NFL and make a lot of money to support his daughter, and he has a great degree. I think the risks of coming back are a lot higher than the rewards.
Yeah that is true. I just hope he isn't too confodent and expects to hear his named called on days 1 or 2 of the draft
#186 overall according to scout, inc.
He needs to have a huge combine and interview process.
Theres not 1 reason for him to stay
Number 1 back for the Irish is what you are implying i hope?I am thinking in the long term. He would be easily the number one back next year. He would get more carries than this year. He has day two talent if not one, we seen weirder stuff happen. If he stayed and had a huge year. Wouldn't that really help him? One extra year would give him much more money immediately. Now, I think there is something up with him. Probably attitude or whatever and he does not want to come back. It seems like he has been in the dog house. That is just my speculation and opinion.

As much as I'd like to watch Cierre be our number 1 RB next year, I think it would be foolish for him to do so. Will have his degree and hopefully a title! Then he'll have pro days and the combine to help boost his draft status. Why risk it when you have the degree?

Go read some Manti quotes on why he was so happy he returned.
Or he could be another Matt Barkley. I'd love to have him back as the #1 guy, but not sweating it.

First and foremost, Manti and Cierre are two different people at two totally different positions on get this, different sides of the football. Manti, did not have his degree without this year and is without question the heart and soul of the team and hell I'd go as far as to say the heart and soul of the school at this point. Cierre is also a father which is something that Manti did not have as a possible deciding factor. Look man not every kid is a first round pick, it just doesn't work that way. It doesn't mean that he can't be a productive player in the NFL because he bypassed his 5th year of eligibility. I just kind of think it's silly comparing him to Manti at this or any point.
Ok, I will compare him to Darius Walker. What another year would have potentially done for him.

Get him murdered behind the abomination of an offensive line we had in 2007? Horrible example.
There's not a reason to stay. His stock will not get higher and coming back only gives him more chances to get hurt and never get paid. He's going to be a very good running back in the NFL. Teams kill for someone with his vision matched with speed.
"One of the reasons Cierre is ripping pine out of his own arse is because he didn't run downhill on most plays. He preferred to dance around and make his own way while being swallowed up by the defense. Also, I think he goes down on first contact to easily. Has to lower his pad level a bit, absorb the blow and move forward."
This is a quote from HCTI on the Greg Bryant thread. I couldn't say it better.
