I know...the truth hurts sometimes. I tried to be very respectful and honest and this is the response I get? I hope you aren't representative of your fellow Domers.

The truth? What truth? All your post accomplished was to reinforce many of the stereotypes we have about Alabama and SEC fans. And I'm not talking about your personal lives or whether you do or do not collectively live in mobile homes or use proper grammar. I'm talking about the disgusting, seeping, RAMPANT SEC bias that exists in the deep south. Every SEC fan on the planet thinks their conference is the greatest thing to happen to College Football since the forward pass. All you did here was reinforce this all-too-true stereotype. The SEC is not invincible. Is it the best conference in college football? Yes. Are a majority of its teams typically good or very good? Yes. But does it produce the ONLY teams in the country worthy of winning championships? No.

Look at the facts, bud. Notre Dame has statistically one of, if not the, best defenses in the country (and yes, it does even pass that stupid ****ing "eye test"). Notre Dame has played a statistically tougher schedule, too, because (fun fact!) just because a team has that SEC patch on its jerseys doesn't mean that they are somehow better than all other teams. Yeah, you beat Georgia and Florida. But we beat Stanford and Oklahoma. You lost to Texas A&M. We lost to nobody. Your schedule in between LSU and Florida is weaker than our schedule between Stanford and Oklahoma. The weakest team on our schedule would run the weakest team on yours into the ground. We've never (read that again: never) played an FCS team. Never, and that's why we don't have those 70-0 blowouts over Louisiana Correctional Institute you all hang your hats over.

So yeah, maybe you're right that not all SEC fans live in trailer parks and are closer to their sisters than they should be. But you reinforced the biggest stereotypical gripe I have with SEC fans: Their blind, undying bias.

OK, one last thing. Yes, we (Southerners) have some pride. I rooted for Tennessee back in '98 and Auburn a few years ago when they played in the BCSNCG. I had to take a shower afterwards but I did. It's the luxury of being in a CONFERENCE.

The luxury of being in a conference is the ability to take credit for something that you didn't do? That's pretty ****ing stupid.

You aren't that good. You'd be a 8-9 win team if you played a SEC schedule. Get ready to look like OSU did against LSU and UF in the BCSNCG. Or like you did against LSU a few years ago in the Sugar bowl. I expect a close game at halftime but BAMA wins 31-13.

How many SEC schedules are worse than ours?? All but one or two... You can actually make a much better argument based on real data, not regional hate and ignorance, that most of the SEC couldn't survive OUR schedule, not the other way around... So far as the rankings tell, Notre Dame played a better than an average SEC schedule... WITHOUT any gimme sub division teams... But facts be damned with southern football...

Golson is probably going to need to get about 75 yards on the ground, unless we have a RB that just goes off. So his(Golson's) ball security is going to be critical.

I kinda looked at it that this would be Wood's audition for the NFL...ie I think he sees it somewhat that way...I think he runs like a man posessed, and he hangs a C-note on Bama.

I think this game comes down to a couple things...1) Can Notre Dame be balanced enough to keep Bama on their heels? 2) Can Notre Dame keep Bama's ground game to minimal carries for 4qrts?

Since Saban has been coaching at Bama the only teams that have beat them are well balanced spread teams that keep them guessing. I don't think they've given up maybe 5-6 100yrd rushers in 5 years Notre Dame will have to throw to win.

I know Notre Dame has a good front 7 but how good is the 2-3 deep? Because those guys won't last 4qrts against Bama's offensive line and those bruising running backs. That is Bama's game and it's no secret pound you into submission then when a team stacks the box throw it over their head with play action. Notre Dames bench will have to play great to win.

I see this game being a slugfest until midway of the 3rd or beginning the 4th then quality depth will take over. Now it may sound like I don't respect the Irish that's not so.... I believe Notre Dame is a good team I just don't think they have the depth to last with a heavyweight like Bama 4qrts.

Bama 27
Notre Dame 13

So Louisana Monroe was a well balanced spread team that kept Saban guessing. I didn't know that.

BGIF is sound in everything he says. Its all very logical and to the point. I have picked Alabama to win this game for most of the same reasons. I have been wrong 9 times this year. We'll see how the game goes and how my illustrious pick turns out. One thing I'm certain will happen-Notre Dame will play its best game this year in this game-will it be enough?

K...this is where he leaves with his tail between his legs, then goes back and tells CTRLASSDELETE he trolled us, and they tell each other how cool they are.

So, what I know of Alabama fan is CTRLASSDELETE, Brian Downing, and this guy.

AWESOME!

So I was watching the Texas A&M vs Bama game and they actually did a good job containing the Bama running backs. Yea bama got their yards but it wasn't explosive type plays.

Notre Dame's defense is twice as good as A&Ms. I think ND as great chance of slowing down the Bama running game. If A&M can hold them to 24. I think Notre Dame can hold Bama offense in the teens if they play their best game.

Interesting point. I hate third party comparisons normally. But it makes sense.

What I want to know is if Bobby D is going to throw anything strange at Alabama, just to keep them guessing.

Anyone know about Alabama's bowl practice schedule. I believe they getting back to practice today.

If this is the case then it is different than ND who as already gotten 5 practices in and seems to be spreading them out more.

Is it better to cram or spread it out?

I also think Nick Saban may have tried to cancel Christmas.

Since we tend to play to the expected level of our competition we will play like superhumans. Kind of nice to be #1 but still the underdog.

Got into it with a Florida fan at a Christmas party Saturday. So smug with SEC owning all of college sports that I would have smacked him if it wasn't his house (and he is a lot bigger than me).

That recruit article just reinforces the need for someone to deliver a serious can of whoop a$$ on the SEC.

I think its only fitting that ND be the one to end the SEC winning streak in BCS title games. It will be another notable to streak that ND put an end to. Oklahoma, Army, UCLA (in men's basketball), UCON (in womens basketball). ND is streak buster and it would be fiiting if they were the one to put an end to the whole SEC BCS title game streak.

Has anyone looked at Bama's schedule next year? It's laughable to say the least. If they beat LSU they're in the championship again... heck even if they don't they have a good chance.

“I saw one young man carrying a high-end Cuisinart coffee maker and pink slippers to the checkout counter,” Webb said. “I asked him jokingly if those were for him. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, ‘You have no idea how much this means to me. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever been able to buy my mom a Christmas present.’”

Funny how we forget, or didn't know; but this is what it is all about!

The LSU game is at home too.

If they can just win at Texas A&M they should be in great shape. I think the Bama A&M winner represents the SEC West in the title game next year. A&M is losing a ton on offense outside of Manziel. If Bama wins that game even with a loss to LSU chances of making the SEC title are pretty good as LSU may lose twice.

Alabama and A&M get none of the SEC East heavyweights (UGA, USC, UF). While LSU has to play Georgia in Athens and Florida at home. Plus LSU has what I think will a very good TCU team in Arlington to open up the season. Note: Gary Patterson is one heck a coach, they a had a ton of off field problems but hung in this year with a young team; lots of returners.

I dislike LSU and Les Miles but in the SEC West title race LSU is getting hozed next year with the schedule.
