Just got the best news! I was supposed to have an evening work meeting on January 7th for which I'm critical and could not get out of. Wouldn't have gotten to see the game until 9:30 at the earliest (after planning every single Saturday for the past 4 months around ND football). Well, the meeting was just moved back a week. Some of you are excited to be going to Miami - I'm just excited to watch it from the start of TV.
Wasn't it Bama however that had the four ball players that made some headlines when they felt they were "duped" into accepting medical scholarships? They were not told they could never play again?
What can the pros offer him that college can't? Its not like he's flying all over the country looking for talent. He's a tireless recruiter but id imagine its much easier to do than in some other sec schools.. Money isn't an issue. Believe he makes over 5 mill a year in base salary... The work schedule is much more flexible in college than the pros... And he's top gun, whatever he wants he'll get.... I see no advantage to going pro
Our lack of anything resembling a return game is the problem. It constantly puts us at a field position disadvantage, which really adds up over the course of a game. We've been able to overcome it thus far, but we're not going to be able to hang many points on 'Bama if we're constantly starting around our own 20.
Our lack of a return game is irrelevant if we don't let them return anything either. From what I remember, we haven't given up more than a couple decent returns all year and 0 past midfield.
IMO, this game comes down to Red Zone efficiency. Both teams are going to have goal-to-go situations. It will come down to who punches it in.
Right there with you man. Been watching on TV all season at my house. Don't want to risk a change of venue now.
Anyone in TN PM me. I will be having a small get together/party for the game. The more Irish fans the better.
I would love to see Saban go to the Cowboys! I can see Jerry Jones throwing a ton of money at him and promise him control on player personel decissions; Only for Jerry to constantly interfer with what Saban wants to get done and who he wants to bring in. Saban in the end will just end up really pissed off.
Note: Jerry Jones thinks he is a football expert.
Dead on. It is only a distraction as long Saban says nothing and more people begin to see it as a possibility.
So tell your friends that it is a sure thing. Feed the media trolls!
That's why I posted that. The clash of two huge ego's. As long as Jones owns the Cowboys they will languish in mediocrity. BTW....italics = sarcasm on this board.
I know know if any of this is true, but I did hear his wife on Mike & Mike and she basically said what was already posted here about unrealistic expectations and more of relief than happiness when each season is over.
Some Bama fans think they are entitled to an automatic national title every year now. They forget their own decade of mediocrity between Gene Stallings and Saban.
53.8% PWE :: Notre Dame 24, Alabama 23
Well its time-time for my illustious prediction- of which I have been WRONG 8 times this year. Gotta give me a break as I said they'd be 1-1 by week 2. And I would not try to be silly about Wake/BC/Pitt. Before I give my all knowledgeable GUESS I want everyone to know down here they say Notre Dame simply has no shot. Listen to the Finebaum show and get a load of these folks and the hatred. If I am wrong for the 9th time this year there will be a lot of words that will be hard to digest for the next 12 months. 'How could I pick Notre Lame/not even a top 10 team/overrated/call my guys losers/couldnt beat 6 teams in the SEC/wouldnt be 500% in the SEC/how do you explain Pitt almost beating you (by the way Pitts pretty good and was great that day ) etc.' Well here it is -I think Notre Dame will lose to Alabama. Furthermore its all on Golson because the other parts can neutralize Alabama and Notre Dame is going to surprise people with their athletes. I also think Notre Dame will play their best game of the year. I would make these practices as hard as I could for Golson because Alabama certainly will. College boys against semi pros and college football needs the college boys to make a statement. Please make me wrong again-'Go Irish'.What whatever its worth whatifsports.com (a computer simulation site) simulated all the bowl games 1000 times and had Alabama winning the national championship 52% of the time by an average of score 16 to 13. Whatif has an 80% accurracy in college football top 25 games this year.
Although they where wrong about ND@Okalahoma (gave OU a 55% chance to win by an average of 27-24). So with that, I think it is important that ND still shows up for the game and doesn't forfeit.
Some Bama fans think they are entitled to an automatic national title every year now. They forget their own decade of mediocrity between Gene Stallings and Saban.
I've been on one Bama site for a couple of weeks now and have had really good discussing the game until today. One mod is all worked up because Holtz was on TV tomparing Golson favorably to Manziel and how he will give Bama problems. They also were complaining that ND was getting all the love from ESPN.
I reminded them that Lou is a homer and not to get too worked up about it. If Joe Namath was on ESPN and talked about McCarren being comparable to Andrew Luck it wouldn't bother me. If you watch the games you don't need for someone to tell you what you've seen. Do you?
FEI projection:
Projections in the 50-55% Projected Win Expectation have been right 62% of the time this season. I'll take a 62% chance to win outright.
Can anyone tell me why they scheduled this game on Monday!? Really they couldn't have picked a more inconvenient day. Why not Friday or Saturday?
People do things on Fridays and Saturdays. Most everyone is home on a Monday night.
^ This is the only thing I can think of as well.
I might have to avoid all forms of media until late night and watch the replay online.
