In magogian's defense, the recent anti-Obama rally at Ole Miss was an embarrassment.

We can be above that. It's not like he pulled a 'Tay B.' We haven't been in his Too 5 forever.

Damn. Still would love an elite, big-bodied, jump-ball receiver in this class, but with the athletes we have I'm not really sweating it. We'll get a top guy next year ... and we'll be talking about how underrated Fuller, Robinson, Onwualu and Hunter were.

To be fair... watching the 30 for 30 about the integration of Ole Miss and realized that was only 50 years ago is pretty astounding. If anyone hasn't seen it, I recommend watching it. Pretty powerful stuff.

As for Treadwell... I wanted him in this class and thought we had a decent chance for it but it looks like that ship has sailed. I am, however, more than pleased with out WR haul this year. The upside to all our current commits is looking very bright. It's looking more and more like Corey is going to be our next throw it up and jump end zone threat that we will be missing. All is good.

I don't think we ever had a chance, not too broken up about this. Probably because I didn't really hold out any hope for him coming here.

imo the way the staff is doing work right now...this isn't over til signing day. agreed it doesn't look good, but also if he goes to ole miss that is by far the 2nd best case scenario. They will never be relevant in the SEC regardless of who is leading them.

Sometimes it's not the lines drawn in the sand, or just the taboo nature of the subject, just the effin insensitivity of the comment.

He's got Ole Miss #1 and will take OVs to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Florida, and Michigan.

It will shock me if he ends up anywhere other than Ole Miss.

Good. We can focus our attention on other recruits

Don't kill me but I think we let him go. Not like we didn't want him, not like I wouldn't love him, etc. Kind of like the Inn was getting full and we have some top shelf stuff, and from a not physical standpoint, he may not be a good fit. I am just saying. It is hard to show all the love when you get none back.

And the name that may support my conjecture?

Max Redfield.

Agree completely Bogs.

Seems like Treadwell just wants attention

Full court for Redfield and Bryant seems like a better usage of time and resources

He just wants to get away from home. No matter what ND did he would go somewhere else. Good Luck to him wherever he ends up except if he plays ND.

There's more to it than that. I talked to TP about 2 months ago and he said that this would happen, and the reason for it floored me.

I know, I hate it to when people throw info out there without really saying what it is, but in deference to TP I won't be the one to spill it. Just saying, I doubt him not going to Michigan was because he wanted to get away from home.

EDIT: Oops, just read it again, and I take it you meant ND LOL. Oh well, still a good story that hopefully will come out after NSD...

i'll prolly catch flack for this, but there seems to be some skeletons in the closet here for some reason, whether it's grades or whatever, but it just doesn't seem to fit or make sense to me. unless him and standifer are super tight it just doesn't make sense why ole miss is sitting so well here.

Ole miss has a good friend, great coaches, rabid fan base, great looking women ......

From what LA just said there seems to be a reason that is unusual and like he said hopefully after NSD we'll find out. For now I operate under the impression that academics are the issue. Like I have posted before all the mods on II were saying from the beginning that it wasn't an intelligence issue just a lack of interest in a tough academic schedule. Not sure what's true just sharing info.

I have heard his academics might be an issue but I am telling you guys this has a lot less to do with academics than other things watch how Ole miss closes this year with recruits and watch how they recruit next year.

Wasn't trying to say that was the only reason. You've made very good points that I agree with.

Could very well be true. On the other hand, he might qualify for ND, but maybe he wasn't interested in the demanding academic schedule he would have to maintain?

I'll stick with this as the reasoning, for now.
