I grew up in NY listening to him every single day and I can, with confidence, tell you he doesn't know anything about sports.

I'd say he doesn't know much about CFB, but he can talk sports. Idk, I didn't grow up in NY so I never group up listening to him as a kid. I just like most of the guys on there and always like their topics.

I think radio is not always about what you say and more about how you say it, and whether you can get your point across. Plus he takes calls, which rules out any ESPN radio guys (except Mike & Mike).

Te'o and/or Manziel being left off of any ballot is mind boggling to me.

Anyone not voting Manziel or Te'o on their ballot is someone attempting to fudge the numbers and showing absolutely no "integrity".

Just announced as one of the three Heisman finalists going to NY on ESPN!

The other two finalists are, predictably, Manziel and Klein

Just the fact that he will be there and celebrated for the person and player he is will be good enough for me. I'd love him to win, but he is getting all the accolades and attention he deserves. Shining beacon for everything ND stands for, and as perfect of a recruiting pitch / tool as you could possibly hope for.

Congrats Manti!

The invite is validation for a fantastic season. Win or lose Manti is a phenomenal human being and football player. He is the perfect ambassador for Notre Dame.

Manti Te'o learned he's a Heisman finalist while signing autographs at Nagurski Award: "Oh man, thank you! I can't wait to get to New York!"

That is great about the double-barreled Butkus!

We need people to vote Manti 1 and Manzel not at all or third.

Oh, My Goodness! I saw in part of the Te'o song a beach and it looked pretty close to Makapuʻu Beach. Does anyone know how close that is to his home? Makapuʻu Beach has waves bigger than a house! It is right down from the Banzai Pipeline, where they hold all the surfing championships.

Congratulations Manti, our Keiki kāne!

I sure hope James Franklin doesn't have a vote; would they just toss his ballot if he wrote-in:

Bama #1, Florida #2, and Vandy #3???

I saw a release that Jay Mariotti of the Sun Times didn't have Manti on his ballot. If so, I would hope all Chicago-area ND fans would give that a-hole an earful.

Here is the model: 100 votes; 600 points.

a) 40 first place (120) 40 third (40) 20 second (40) = 200

b) 20 first place (60) 80 second place (160) 20 third place (20) 320. Less first place but wins. (My analogy for Manti)

c) this model leaves 200 points out there to be split between others or go to a third candidate.

Bog,
In b) you show 120 votes (20+80+20), and the sum of these would be 240 (not 320). If you were to remove the 20 3rd place that would be 220. I am confused.

You probably should have typed it in Gaeilge, but then Trojan Princess would think you were swearing at her again :)

Not even going to click on his link, haha.

It's actually kinda funny. He writes an anecdote about Manziel creating himself as a 6'6" QB so that he might have a shot at winning the Heisman. About how "refreshing" that is.

Didn't Manti say something identical and he doesn't even play offense so it makes even more sense for him. Wow.

Also call ND's fan base self righteous while trying to appear unbiased.

Yeah Manti always played as an RB when he won the Heisman in NCAA.

He also tries to spin Manziel's arrest as something that built his character while mentioning that ND has also had "off the field issues." So he's basically comparing Manziel (in the vacuum of football) with Notre Dame (and Catholicism, and Notre Dame fans) as a whole in his article.

Basically throwing **** against the wall and seeing what sticks, in an attempt to justify a pre-determined selection. Wonder if his own arrest "built his character".

I mean... In all fairness an arrest can build character. But he sounds legitimately upset that ND fans think that his arrest should impact his Heisman chances, when it obviously should. He makes ND fans out to be monsters for calling him "Johnny Rotten" while he simultaneously sarcastically patronizes the clean image of Manti.

So now you know the secret to my success. I add favorably to make my point. Which still stands.

As far as the Trojan Princess and I, we got thing worked out. The whole thing started because I liked her metal. I found her a refreshing change to other opponent posters on this site. Still do.

I want to make an earlier point again. We saw it in the presidential election, and I believe we saw it here. The idea is if you convince enough people that the vote is going your way, they actually vote your guy in. I believe that was a case with the earlier article. They picked pro Manzel voters to show. Why? they have a vested interest. They came out with Manzel winning in a landslide in their prediction. Every one else has it to close to call.
