ISD saying that he'll be visited four times by Irish coaches between tomorrow and the time he EE's. Definitely showing Alex the love he deserves.

Love this! Very glad he's ours! Big time kid!

Congrats on the ship Alex! Winning breeds winning! Now get to the Bend and keep this train rolling!

Wyomissing plays Danville this week in the state playoffs in Hershey. Danville, I believe, just moved down to AA ball this year from AAA. They beat Mount Carmel for the District 4 title last week. (Mount Carmel is the state's all time wins leader. In top five of the country) Danville plays some good competition, though I doubt they have seen a player like Alex yet. Should be a really good matchup.

Wyomissing is a lot more than Anzalone. Don't get me wrong. He's the biggest piece of the pie, but they run Wing T and run it very well. So disciplined.

One tailback averages 100 per game and another speedster averages 12 yards a carry. When you have their kind of talent in the wing T at that level (AA), it's so hard for defenses to shut everything down.

Wyo averages 44 points per game and plays great defense, too. Ranked 2 in the state

They sound similar to the dominate Southern Colombia teams a couple years back. Wing T, dominate physical running back (Hynoski), and a defense to boot.

i live in Danville....i went to one of their games and let me tell you.....there is not a 1 div 1 prospect on the team nor have they played anyone w/ one in local play....all the highschools are easy driving distance and i am on the road a lot so i hear the local radio sports channels.

southern is about a 15 min drive from danville....they sent a kid to ND a few years back when i was in high school name Nate Schichattano(sp?) he was on the squad for 2 years i believe and then transfered to temple...but Nate, a kid after him named ricco rossini and hynoski were all head and shoulders above playing competition around here...haven't seen anything like that in some years...besides Blake Rankin(sp?) who went to bloomsburg which is again 15min drive and he just signed last year w/ rutgers

Oh I know the area. I live in Frackville, 15 minutes east of Mount Carmel. We played against Southern my senior year, Hynoski's senior year. The area is always very good in terms of team toughness, but usually lacks the gifted D1 athletes compared to other areas. I have not had a chance to see many games this year, what I did were in the Anthracite League. I do think Danville, from what I have read, will be tough, but Wyomissing should be the favorite easily (no?).

i haven't seen a wyomissing game but usually when there is a div 1 stub on off/def against non div 1 talent anywhere at any position in highschool, that guy usually has a hell of a game...which is why some of these recruits numbers are so outragous.....and i would imagine it will be the same in this game...

I completely agree. Like I said I think Danville will play tough, but playing tough will only get you so far with a D1 talent lined up on the other side of the ball. It seems that if the D1 talent is on the line, it can be dealt with a little more, but when a player is in a position like running back and linebacker, a la Alex, he can be really hard to gameplan around and defend/block.

i had to laugh when i looked at the program during the game....danville's biggest O lineman was like 6'1 220 the rest were like 5'8 5'10 etc all around the 200 mark...

RT @keithkolb77 Alex Anzalone has 3 TDs, after his 1-yard run caps off 6-play, 55-yard drive. #Wyo leads 21-0 with 4:12 left in first period

Wyo crushed an out-manned Danville team. It's 52-0 in the 4th and backups have been in for a while.

Down the road, Wyo and Anzalone might meet RB David Williams who plays at Imhotep Charter and has several D1 offers

So I'm sure it's posted in this thread somewhere, but is AA projected to play ILB or OLB for us?
