It's capoeira. The movie, Only the Strong, was sort of Dangerous Minds meets Bloodsport. Unfortunately, it had all the plot of Bloodsport and all the action of Dangerous Minds.

Bloodsport is awesome. Do not criticze the talent that is displayed in that cinematic work of art. We wouldn't have this classic line were it not for this movie:

"OK, USA!"

I thought the exact same thing. Interesting factoid, that scene was not originally included in the film script, it was a Harrison Ford improvisation.
