KLM was injured, so they were running right at Aaron Lynch every time. Don't miss that kid one bit.

Being in the stands for that game was pretty darn frustrating. USC had a great defensive game plan... they moved up the safeties and dared Rees to throw it over their heads. Floyd was in single coverage but ND lacked the pass protection/inclination to get the ball downfield.

I'm guessing Kiffin the Elder is going to bring a lot of heat in the hopes of making big plays. I hope Everett keeps his cool and the offensive line opens up some running lanes. If ND has issues getting yards on the ground it will get ugly.

Thankfully, the ND defensive scheme of a (well executed) soft zone is exactly the kind of defense a young QB should struggle against.

So nervous about this game...USC has tons of talent. Barkley or not, this game is going to be a tough one. I would not be surprised at all if we lost this game. Unlike others, I still think this Irish team has 8-4 talent but has had a magical year. Hopefully that magic continues...

Playing the ND fight song is the sign of a desperate coach looking for something to motivate his team.

If USC runs the slants, look for Manti to drop back and pick another one.

If USC brings pressue, EG has the legs that TR doesn't. A few 10 -15 yard pick ups by EG and they will call off the pressure.

Our defense is much better then last years defense. They will not be able to run the ball and we can make him throw it in a hurry.

Our O-line is much better then last years and is getting better every game. I see these guys giving EG time to throw and the RB's room to run. If USC wanst to get aggressive look for the counters and traps to take them out of the play.

Just keep hitting them and hitting them until they quit. It might be the first quarter, it might be the fourth, but the way they play defense they don't like to hit straight on.

I believe they are playing either a true/rs freshman LT if I recall correctly. I could be wrong though so don't take it to the bank.

The Google-Machine told me that Barkley is the only new person out, while there are six guys that have been knocked out for the season in previous weeks. It's hard to know how accurate this is though, since Kiffin doesn't talk about injuries.

Sorry. It wasn't clear. There was no talk in this thread but the multiple other threads about Bama were what was bothering me. I only posted in this one because it was about USC. On a side note I love the fact USC is talking junk. Should help us focus. Love the fact the Kelly also said it wasn't a rivalry until we win a few more. If that doesn't fire the boys up I don't know what will

One difference I expect with Max Wittek at quarterback is he will throw to all of his receivers

USC is a very talented football team and the WRs are the best in the country

USC has great weapons and great balance on offense

we don't know too much about Barkley's back-up, but he is on scholarship at USC

USC is very good on the back end of the defense.

We work in January to be better in November

Golson is at the point where we are letting him play through his struggles.

Every game that Golson has played up to this point goes into his preparation for USC

USC's Lee has incredible acceleration after the catch. He is always in position to make big plays after a catch.

The defense is going to do what we do because that has gotten us to this point.

Wittek has a big arm and is a great character kid.

Cierre Wood is a great back when he runs north and south. He must get used to doing that every time he runs the ball.

We wear that and feel like #1 every week we play. We get the best from our opponents every single week.
