Is it definite that Barkley will be out next week? I want him at the helm. No USC excuses.

Sending Barkley out in a sling could easily be a half-baked shenanigan by Kiffin in the hopes that it will give him some sort of advantage next week.

Lol.

This was mentioned earlier.

I don't buy it though.

But his life has been a gimmick.

Watching CFB final.

If ND beats USC and goes to the championship game, Mark May has to wear a leprachaun suit.

Based on last week's Sagarin, ND would have been a 1.5 pt favorite in L.A. Sunday's Sagarin update should increase that a little.

Southern Cal has a lot of talent on that team with or without Barkley.

Does it get anymore fitting than this? Manti's last regular season game vs USC for a chance at the ship. Unreal! I don't care who is the coach the QB or the water boy. This is for all the marbles and I am thrilled to see our guys in this position! Hard work is paying off!

Seriously. If we win this game, y'all will see me running on the field hugging BK and Manti. I'm going to need bail money.... anyone?

Sagarin's 11/17/12 rankings are out, ND is #1 in BCS, #4 in Predictor.

Sagarin's Predictor has ND a 2.5 favorite over Southern Cal in L.A. Sagarin's ranking don't consider injuries.

It has Alabama as 1. Didn't take long for that bias to show its face. And they say big on the page unbiased on all 3 rankings. My a$$.

Wow USC probably won't even be ranked when we play them Saturday.

Preseason:

AP had USC #1, ND wasn't ranked.

ESPN.com power ranking had USC #1, ND was #25

USA Today Coaches poll had USC #3, ND at 24

Someone make me feel better about this game please. I love my Irish, but I am worried (I guess the last 22 years did something to me).

Coach Kelly will have these guys ready. With Leader on this time like Manti, Motta, and the presence of the other seniors they want this. Diaco will be watching film and have his young men ready! Have alot of faith man. We have done everything everyone said we couldn't do!!!

I have the faith. I never doubted that we could come back against pitt while I watched the game. I just keep thinking about last year. I've said to myself we would be 12-1 this year, now I'm sure as heck hoping I'm wrong (well the 1 I thought would be OK so hopefully I'm still wrong at the end of the season).

I really wouldn't be too concerned, this is a different team these days. Something we haven't seen since Holtz. BUT, if you would like something to chew on to ease the emotional pain:

There's a chance Matt Barkley won't be playing in this game due to a separated shoulder. Hope that helps!

It helps, I think I'm more worried about the recievers than the qb though. I haven't thought barkley as one of the elite qbs ever. Didn't he come out of HS with a boat load of INTs his senior year? Those WR's are NFL caliber though. This week will truely test our fresh/soph heavy secondary (lets go front 7).

I'm more worried about USC than if we play Bama. We have the D to shut down Bama's rushing game (just play the way we did against OK). All we have to do is put up 12 and we should win there.

Just me speculating:

Even if capable, Barkley won't play to protect whats left of his draft stock. If he goes into the game sore with limited ability and gets trounced again, him and his agent will both be hating life even more than they are now.

Knowing the typical fair-weather southern cal fan, after four losses and Barkley out, I suspect that there will be a lot of empty seats in the Coliseum on Saturday.

They will be full of Irish fans most likely.
