Grass is always greener on the other side...

I wish we could have them both and am not spurning AA, I have always had the opinion that you can't go wrong with a large Hawaiian, or any Hawaiian. I still wish we could've gotten Iaone, and think big Issac will be something special.

You can never have too many schlobberknockers. Anzalone and Savalinaea ... Bobby-the-D would find a way.

There have been a lot of people that have questioned parts of AA's game. There is a reason some of the teams wanted him as a HB. That being said, he's a terrific athlete that I would love to have on our team.

Do one thing for me, go watch both of their tapes again and report back. Even before this whole debacle, I have never been blown away by AA's tape. IS on the other hand....

AA is a excellent athlete like nick baratti. If he works really hard he could have a similar college career as nick.
Isaac is a ferocious ilb that has the blue print all lei'd out before him and will have Manti' s full support.

Do we still have a chance with Isaac or has this ship sailed?

He's definitely one of my favorites on the board.

Underwhelmed by Stanford visit, per Justin Hopkins.

Now visiting UCLA.

Probably TAMU-bound? That seems to be the only visit that really excited him.

Could be another Manti situation. Everyone thought Manti was going to pick USC, but came to ND. Maybe same thing with Isaac? Same high school, same position.

Do we have room for him?

As long as he ends up anywhere but Stanford it is a BIG WIN! This is what Stanford's recruiting class currently looks like:

Stanford 2013 Football Commits

They had a great class last year and we need this class to keep trending in its current direction so that they'll become a doormat again.

Eeesh.

That's not going to do much for keeping their program afloat is it?

The players that are committed are pretty nice though, just such a small class.

Call me crazy, but this kid falls into "best available" regardless of AA. I'd love to add him to this already insane LB class.

I've said it before and i'm not backing off of it... I like AA and hope he sticks, but swapping Isaac for AA would improve our class. He is a better player than Anzalone, imo.

Is Isaac really interested in us though? He hasn't struck me as very into ND... though I am inclined to agree, he would be an upgrade from Anzalone

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to look like he has much interest.

From Mike 10/21/12:

Didn't mention anything about AA, but was a pretty positive update. He named a top 6 which included ND which is big because he said he didn't want to follow Manti. He also said it wouldn't bother him anymore to follow Manti, because it is an honor to be compared to him.

Said he talked with Manti and Toma and they both told him how comfortable they feel so far away from home. Manti and Robby are mentors back in Hawaii so its good they are enjoying ND.

Also said he was thinking of making final decision at Under Armour All American game but now will likely wait until NSD.

Nothing new since then, from what I can gather.

^^This. It doesn't seem like there is much of a chance he comes to ND. Might as well go some place where we won't play him. Oh well, crazier things have happened in the past. Also, I think Anzalone is going to stick in the end. The week-end will seal it. Purely an opinion.

IS deciding on NSD is great for us. We should know whether AA is sticking or not before then, so we'll have time to make a strong push to replace him if necessary.

decommitting from Stanford. Down to UCLA and TAMU.

We'd better hold on to Anzalone.
