NOBODY PANIC! He's fine.

The success of Keivarae Russell this year has to give Kinlaw some confidence; like Russell, Kinlaw is not primarily a DB in high school. Russell's success goes to show that we don't necessarily need DBs to come in polished. Above all we need athletes at CB, and by all accounts Kinlaw is one hell of an athlete. Just something I was thinking as I was reading about the DB visitors this weekend (L.J. Moore and Cole Luke), who are primarily high school DBs, unlike Kinlaw. Don't sweat it bro! We know what you can do.

I've been saying this for a while now. Give me a 4 star athlete who plays offense in high school over a polished 4 star corner in high school any day. Of course 5* corners are no brainiers. But, in high school your best athletes usually start on offense and a little defense.

Prince Amukamara was a high school RB
Joe Haden was a high school QB/Ath

Just saying.

Amukamara is fragile and Haden is dumb. Therefore we must take Corners and ONLY corners. No more switching players' positions for Kelly.

I would much prefer keeping Kinlaw as a CB. Torii and James can both be extremely solid WRs in the same type of mold, and Kinlaw has the tools to be a really solid CB, which is a positive of more dire need. Plus, I am always of a mind to keep the best athletes on D.

Wonder if kinlaw gets a stronger look on offense with the addition of Luke and limited scholarships (no room for folston now).

I wondered same exact thing. No need to have a body buried on the depth chart. Obviously this is moot point if he can make a Russell esqe impact at cb

ND needs the CB depth and as the depth issue get's solved they can move guys Shumate back to there natural positions which will serve the program better.

After his injuries the last couple of years I don't think it would be such a big deal if he came in as a CB red-shirted and really looked to compete as a red shirt sophmore. None of these guys are going to be starting as freshman unless some injuries occur. Russel and Jackson start. Wood and company as back ups.

At least he doesn't play near the shore. Those towns were decimated (like Somers Point).
Um...Unless Kinlaw moved he should be in one of the worst areas hit. I'm pretty sure he lives on the shore near AC.

Hoping he and his family are OK.

Kinlaw lives in Absecon I believe which is on the bay but i'd imagine didn't get hit nearly as hard as the Barrier Islands.

New mission for Jimmy Mac-- please go assess the damage in NJ that Kinlaw may or may not have suffered.

Kelly said yesterday that he spoke to all the recruits in that area and no one was severely affected

Anyone hear anything on Kinlaw? Kind of strange to not hear anything with coaches out in New Jersey...

He's not getting a visit at his school or home because he's using his OV this weekend to come out for the banquet. None of this weekend's official visitors are getting visits this week, because the coaches will see them Friday anyway. (Heuerman's coming out for an unofficial visit, and unlike the official visitors he did get a visit from Alford this week.) All per Sapp.

Going to be some decent talent in this game.

On a side note, Kinlaw is one of my favorite players in this class.
