It's hard to be super convinced that he is committed to ND right now (regardless of his technical status as a commit), but I hope we can show some restraint here.

TP posting from INSIDE his own shower.

#TPdedication

hahah. i just said he was solid and i got a text saying IE was gonna rip when the news broke lol. Def hurts him not coming this weekend, but far from a decommit. If he had cancelled an official thatd be different. From the Irishmob kids I have heard from he is solid..obviously its not from Alex himself but i mean they do interact with him.

Yep, he canceled the trip. He has a game Friday night and Dad has to work Sunday; too much driving in less than 48 hours. Hopes to reschedule for Wake Forest.

That is an awful lot of driving for a game, pretty sure if I were in his shoes I wouldn't make the drive either. Hopefully he can get back to campus soon though - it is a long time until that banquet weekend.

Always amused at how fan bases blow up on decommitments. The kids are 17 or 18... everything seems crystal clear for them until it isn't.

Its not as if we don't have our share of guys that tossed aside their commitments to come here.

+1000. We can't control what Anzalone does, and kids his age are going to change their minds. It's inevitable. They are still growing and changing and maturing as people; there is nothing weird or wrong about them realizing in October that they want something different out of college than they wanted in July.

The only thing you can do is plan to be flexible. Kelly does this BRILLIANTLY by recruiting athletes so he can shuffle his roster if necessary, plus the staff has stayed in touch with a number of "big skill" players who we can call in the case of a decommitment. And that is all you can do. No sense getting worked up about Anzalone's decision.

Dude I totally understand what your saying but check out other teams message boards. Check out II or blue and gold some people call for kids heads. This is very civil it has been ugly here in the past when a decommitment happened. He's still committed to ND for now.

Kid is a perfect WILL IMO would absolutely suck to lose him. Look at his offer list.

Aren't WILL and MIKE the same thing basically? It seems that Teo and Fox have been about even in defending the pass this season, so what makes him a better WILL than MIKE?

This thread is absurd. It is closed until any real news comes out. If anyone has actual information to share, PM one of the mods. Thanks.

Rivals100 LB Alex Anzalone updates #NotreDame commitment status and upcoming visit ($): http://bit.ly/ReZEP8

Anyone...Anyone... Bueller

Filled out application, dad wants him to visit ND before season ends. AA addressed his status with "I'm committed to ND."

*Not out of the woods yet, but the sky certainly isn't falling.

I live 5 minutes from his high school and they played at 2pm yesterday, so I checked him out for the first time since last November. Here goes...

1) He is big. Whatever the numbers say about his height and weight, they're legit.

2) He beats up on kids in AA football easily, but I want to say him play against kids of his caliber.

3) He isn't as aggressive/ physical as you'd hope for a kid who wants to play ILB.

4) He is not a finished product. Don't care whether he goes to ND or UF. Kid will have a lot of work to do to excel either way.

5) I didn't get any more info from local fans about his recruiting status. We'll know more if he visits ND

Until the loi is signed none of these verbal commits is out of the woods. This rumor smells of somebody claiming inside info, who knows no more than you or I.

Good kid, with a wee bit of indecision over a huge step in his life, that is all.

Still dont like that he is not coming for a game. Kinda have to wonder if he is coming to let the staff know.

He wouldn't be coming here for two days to let the staff no he is decommiting. Probably coming talk with admissions and smooth things over with the staff. It's nothing but a great thing.

I am curious to see if he comes here and wraps it up or if he is still going to see Florida one more time
