DD as our number one. A big target who is a physical presence. Chris Brown as our number two. The outside guy with speed who can blow the top off of the coverage. And Davonte Neal in the slot. Holy ****ing ****. Add Everett who is playing already and developing a command of this offense and I'm flabbergasted when we throw GAIII in there at the tailback position. If we can develop those lineman I like our offense in the coming years.

I read this as having Roddy White (DD), Randy Moss (Breezy), and Welker (Neal) in the same spread? I guess I'll watch that...

I'd been waiting for that one all year. I'm excited to watch how this connection, and this offense in general, will develop. Exciting times! Big time play in a big time game. Congrats to Chris and his father!

Can't wait to hear from Mr. Brown. Chris showed up in the biggest game of the year.

Well guys he finally got it and it couldn't have came at a better time. What impressed me the most was the look in his eyes on the sidelines at the 8:53 mark. I always felt that he would be ready but to actually see everything unfold leading up to Alford notifying him of the play call and the catch! Once I saw the play action forming I knew he Golson was going deep and Chris would have his chance. After seeing Chris gain and extra 2 steps I started getting the chills! The catch was exciting to witness and well deserved. I was also proud of the way he handled himself after catching his first collegiate pass! Don't think I would have enjoyed the Michael Irvin first down pose at that time (lol). I am just proud of him and our boys for always fighting to make the ND Nation Proud! I have no doubt that Chris is still on cloud 9 right now but tomorrow is another day and our boys should never forget that! When He called me last night, I could tell he was very excited. The last time I heard him so excited was the phone call I received when he committed to ND last year. Just glad to be part of it all and glad to be part of such a great fan base. You guys are truly the best!

Chris and Davonte are going to be one hell of a duo in the future and will compliment each other well. Chris will blow the top off the coverage and force them to roll a safety over the top which will allow Neal to work underneath. Neal makes a few plays underneath, so the safety cheats up and Chris burns his man deep.

Congrats to you and your son, Mr. Brown. Big catch in a big game at a crucial moment. That was the first of many to come.

Can't imagine how proud you must have been Saturday night, Mr. Brown. What a way for Chris to make his first catch at ND - possibly saving the biggest game of the year for the Irish. I'm sure it was only the first of many, many big plays for Chris in the blue and gold.

^^^^ This! All of this!

Honestly, having gotten to "know" you a little on here, this is the greatest post I've ever read on IE. I truly can't tell you how excited this makes me and how happy I (and all of us) am for you and your son.

Go Irish!

I am pretty sure in the post game presser, Kelly said CB was the fastest guy on the team (maybe he and George battle it out). He easily got by one of OU's best corners. Can't wait for the playbook to open up. What a great catch. Congrats Mr. Brown.

Thank you Mr. Brown for sharing such a special moment in your family. I cannot imagine how proud you must be. What a joy it is going to be watching Chris develop and succeed at Notre Dame.

We are so excited for Chris and the team. Chris has been open on deep balls all year long; Golson just couldn't connect with him. Finally he put one right on the #2. As defenses gain more respect for Chris's ability to get behind the defense, they'll stretch themselves out and it'll open up more opportunities for everyone. Very, very exciting.

I had been pretty subdued watching the game but when EG hit Chris on that BOMB I jumped off the couch and yelled "C BREEZY!". Scared the crap out of my boys playing on the carpet in front of me. GO IRISH!

I'd love to see them try a couple shots to Chris early on. He's the one guy on the team that can blow the top of the Bama D. Hoping EG and CB used the down time to build chemistry and get their timing down.

If they connect on something early, Bamma won't be able to load the box. Even if they don't connect, Bamma would still have to worry about the next time...

Just not the first or second play of the game please. Teams always expect early bombs and it would set us behind for a 1st down if incomplete. I'd rather methodically pick up 4-5 yards on outs, slants etc and settle EG down, build some rhythm and flip field position than give Bama any early momentum.

There will certainly be a time and a place for deep shots though, and Chris is our fastest option.

I want to see someone like Daniels go deep for once. Sending in Breezy is telegraphing the deep ball.

I would love to see the same sort of pass, but maybe to GAIII out of the backfield, a nice wheel route down the sidelines while TJ or Eifert slant in GAIII slips underneath and smokes his defender down the sidelines for 6. I mean basically everytime we have GAIII in, it's been in the shotgun and a misdirection counter and has been stuffed ever since the Miami game. Maybe try hitting GAIII deep, he may have problems with his hands, but give the kid atleast one shot, he's got the speed if we can get him in motion out of the backfield, I would think it would cause serious problems if we had Eifert split out wide, Toma in the slot and TJ on the other wing. We motion GAIII out to the other slot and just do a quick bomb. IDK? Wishful thinking, but it would definitly catch bama off guard, I think.

I'm not saying put CB in for a play or two in the first series and just chuck it. BK would set it up correctly. Just having CBrown in likely holds the DBs in check and helps the run. Give him a shot on a mid depth slant. Then run the same set but let him go instead of slant. I love the thought of GA3 as well.

Do you guys think Neal has worked his way into the game plan for tonight (besides a fair catch or two)? Would love to see him and CB get involved and show the elite SEC speed.

Chris Brown is open on 90% of the bomb routes he runs. Everett just can't get the ball exactly where it needs to be [yet].

Which is exactly why I would start CB tonight. Line him up and send him deep, only to run CW right up the middle on the first play of the game. Show Bama we're not afraid to go head-to-head with them right out of the gate.

I don't trust the ball in his hands after the catch getting smashed by Bama's backers after basically sitting out from contact all year in the biggest game we've had in an age. Let's ride the horses that got us here, but by playing aggressively, up-tempo and with confidence.
