Because of the way things have been going and how early our class filled out, I had almost forgotten how embarrassing and absurd recruiting threads could be. So at least I can thank Mr. Hawkins for that reminder.

All he or his dad basically said that Chris was one of the top 3 corners in the country. Said "all the other corners were completely all out classed and should fall like a rock". From the rivals 5 star challenge and I guess he took some heat from different fan base's. Than his dad kind of saved him or Chris saved him by posting that thing Hollywood said. I was in class all day and just got off work so sorry didn't respond earlier.

I think we do have a better chance with Redfield. Remember at the time he said that he felt he got more out of the visit than Chris did, so it was actually a bit of a surprise when Chris' dad came out and said that Chris was seriously considering Notre Dame. Also, we never actually heard what Chris thought about the visit in his own words.
In Redfields case he seemed really high on ND and some of the things he was saying made him seem like the kind of guy who ends up at ND when all is said and done. Redfield also said that one thing the visit has shown him is that he may want to open his recruitment up to visit the other schools on his shortlist as an uncommitted prospect as well. I think I'm right in saying that this interview came out on Tuesday, I believe that is around the time that Hawkins dad said the only way Chris wasn't going to USC was if his scholarship was pulled.
After what Redfield said about getting more from the trip than Chris I was sceptical about how likely it was that Chris would decommit from USC for ND, however from what Redfield has said believe he is giving ND serious consideration at the least.

I guess dad finally laid down the law. Not sure I would want a player who's father wanted to control things as much as him. He would have been bitching to Kelly about his sons playing time or other stuff all the time.

Let's not forget that we aren't certain his father is "controlling things" as much as we might believe... the same rumors were being said about Davonte Neal and his father's control, and we are all happy to have him...

I'm somewhat disturbed by the amount of people that think that they can read into a father/son relationship over the internet to the extent that they feel comfortable calling it "controlling". These are real people we're talking about in here.
